Myth or Fact?

In his article I Wanna Pump You Up Mr. Osten clarifies some misleading weight-lifting myths, such as working out everyday, weight lifting stunting a youth’s growth. He instead provides readers with some pointers that help people receive the best result from weight-lifting.

“It’s important to distinguish weight-lifting facts from myths,” said Mr. Osten as he is in an attempt to persuades his reader into weight-lifting by bringing forth the myths and facts. There are often misunderstandings or misconceptions about different areas of our lives. The news of gossips and rumors and slanders can be heard everywhere. We could be perplexed at what is right and wrong. When was the last time that you were misunderstood or slandered? How did you feel? How did you cope with that misunderstanding or slander?

    umm…. It’s about last month.My friend can’t understood what the “point” I was going to tell her. I felt disappointed.However,I did my utmost to tell her the point I believe. If she can’t understand,I just let her go. Forgive about it. Maybe one day she will realize what am I talking today.I will be myself if I am misunderstood.

    When I just got into senior high,my grade was so bad.I always been the last in tha big test that made so upset.Since that time , I decide to study more harder and pay more patient on my school work.I told myself that I need to be at least 10 in the class.I changed my study habit and begin to prepare the test before two weeks.Time and time again,my effort eventually pay work.My grade was being better as soon as possible.But the classmates didn’t see my effort,thy begain to talk that I was cheat on the test.So my grades can be excellent.I felt so terrible that whether I how much time I paid it was not work.But I try to think in the other side,I didn’t pay the effort for those people who discuss me,I just need to work for meslf.

    When I was in high school. I and my mom often have an argument. Because I always feit that she couldn’t understand my thought. But sometimes I would feel sorry to my mom. Because it was very impolite to argue with my parents. So I would say sorry to my mom after the argument.

    I had been misunderstanding my friend who is boy as a gay.Because he is always thoughtful and has a high pitch of voice. One day,I asked him seriously about which sex does he like. He said”Woman of course.” And he did not talk to me that day. I was so sorry to him. Then,I apologized to him and bought him a drink.

    When I was a senior high school student,my friend misunderstood what I wanted to told him.He was used to smoking,and I advised he should quit smoking,but he very stubborn.He misunderstood my meaning,and I felt very upset and disappointed.
    Than I did not do anything,I just let him go,and I will never make a friend with him.

    When I was a senior high school student, my father often misunderstood me. I told him that I was studying at school ,but he always felt that I played outside everyday. My father is a self-centered and serious person.He never communicated with each other. As a result,my childhood was miserable. I don’t have any idea to solve this problem.

    When I was in high school, my parents often understood me.They thought I did not pay enough attention on my studies so that I could not get high score.Then, I tried to communicate with them and tell them I just need much time to understand what teachers theach.Finally, they saw the progress I made and didn’t blame me on my studies.

    My grandma has a bad memory,she always forget where she putting the money and mistaking someone stolen her purse.Last Chinese New Year,my family went ot my grandma’s house.My mom asked me to help my grandma to clean her room,I didn’t refuse.But after I finished the cleaning,my grandma accused me that I stole her money ! What a shame ! I just cleaned her room for filial piety ! Since then, I never enter grandma’s room.Never.

    I misunderstood my high school best friend, I think she was cold and indifferent to me. At that time, I was thinking: I did not do anything to make her unhappy, why does she ignore me? From then on I do not talk to her, she seemed to find this point, but also to take with me the same action. everyone around us have found this, I answered them: I am not angry, she first ignored me. Some people may tell her I said, she to me and says: I did not ignore you, but I’m not feeling well recently, and I just want to have a good rest!     The latest time that I been misunderstand was when I was in eleven grade .That time my friend thought hat I am too stingy always care about only if price expensive or not or consider the lower price can be the better choice.However, they thought that I should be more generous to friends not just care the money .I am not so sure that whether being is the main reason that they stay away from me.Maybe I should tell them that I am not so rich as they do.This could be the reason why I wany to earn more money.After all,this incident have past already ,people should look forward in future.

    When I was junior high school student, I had two best friends.We kept together until in third grades.Because they believed someone’s rumor,they didn’t believe me.
    Someone said I spoke bad words behind them.But I didn’t say anything,I was very sad.I told myself trust your ownself and everything will be ok.Before we graduated, my best friends apologized to me.They said they misunderstood to me.After that,we get better until now.

    When I was junonr high school gaade 3 student, I misunderstand my boyfriend, because on that time, he said that he wanted to break up with me, I was very sad and even guess that wheather he had another girl friend or not, I was very angry to slap him. After two months, I met him at the supermarket, he told that the reasons, on that time his mom got a big sick and he had to take care of her, so he didn’t have any time to stay wtih me, he had to work and study hard, I was very sorry to him, because I doubted that he had another girldfrind and wanted to abandon me, now I forgive him and we also be my best frind .

    When I was in senior high school, I was been misunderstood by my friends. They thought I had told to teacher that they was cheating on quiz, but I didn’t said anything about this! Finally, they put some disgusting substance on my desk and chair, including their spit….At that time, I could not help but to cry loudly. After then, we had never talk to each other until we met again at our class’ reunion. In fact, I am afraid to see them again, but I chose to face the bad memory. This experience make me a calm girl.

    The most imprssed thing I was misunderstood is when I wasn senior high school student ,I always studied at library everynight ,but my parents always thought I was dating with boy.
    It hurt me deeply cause it seem that they didn’t belieive me at all.
    I have try to explain ,but I still don’t know what they thought about this till now. All I can do is believe they are trust me.

    I remember I had been misunderstood by my friend when I was in senior high.My friend didn’t talk to me for about two weeks.I forget the reason that we argued for but both we did not want to apologize to each other.Fortunately,we still are friend now.I think this is very important to realize each other and avoid any argument.

    I forgot when was the last time I was misuderstood,but I remember a dream which I was misuderstood. I didn’t know what had happened but I knew what I had done was not what they thought.I kept explaining to about 40 pepole.But they didn’t believe me anyway. At first,I was desperate and didn’know how to change the situation.I was scolded by all. In the end,I calmed down,and thought if they don’t believe me,just let them go beacuse I really had not done. I decided not to spent times on dealing with those people,even though I might have to continue to live in this environment.

    Children are always believe everything, including everyone. When I was an schoolgirl, I was misunderstood by my teacher, she thought that I lied to her why I was late for school. I was so sad, intolerable and wounded. From that time, I was always scared when the teacher turned up, because she doesn’t care how I fell, even though I wasn’t wrong, even though the teacher knew the truth later.

    The event was happened on last month. I am a part time of hot pot shop. On that day, there was a customer asked to me add a plateful of taros I though what he need was ‘fish head’, because in Chinese, these two things are pronounce to the same sound. This mistake not only funny but also stupid. I made an apology to him and he didn’t blamed on me. However, I still had to faced the blamed on my boss.

    When I was in junior high school, I was misunderstood by my classmates. Most of them cheated on the biology test in order to pass the test. However, our homeroom teacher found that and shouted at them. Some classmates said that it was I that told the teacher the truth because I was one of the few classmates who didn’t cheat on the test. When I heard this, I felt shocked and hurt. But afterward I tried to change my mind and not to take other’s words too seriously since I didn’t do it.

    Being misunderstood is inevitable,so we should cope with it.When I was in senior high school,I always got bad grades in my math.My parents thougt I didn’t do my best,and I’m very frustrated about it.But afterwards,they finally tolerant to it.People shoud always think thrice before you act,because misunderstood not only cause a conflict but also destroy the relationship.

    when i was in junior high.my parents always doubt that i didn’t work hard on my studies.actually,it’s not.i back to home from school at ten every night.i also studied at school on weekends.what they saw is i played computer games in my free time.i think parents always think that their children needs to study more.

    When I was the third grades of senior high school, there was a girl slander me. She said that I was impolite, and judged about my appearance. But I didn’t know her! She was just a student next to my classroom. We never talk or some interact at school. I was so surprised and sad when I heard the judgment from my friend. I felt down, I kept thinking am I really annoying? Why a stranger will hate me? After few days, I decided to let it go. It was because she didn’t know me, she misunderstood me.

    I remember the time when I was in junior high, onec in the cram school, my classmate misled that I push her pearl milk tea down, but instead of explain that was not my fault, I was annoyed and yell at her. Ever since that upleasant quarrel, she never talk to me and always stared at me with despise. this experience give me a lesson no matter what I encounter something that disadvantaged to me or something misleading, I should try to calm down and come up with a method to solve it. Although it’s very pity that I never give her an apology, this abject experience will always keep in my mind .

    Friends usually joke with one another because it’s interesting to do so. But sometimes the definition of joke may be different from one to the other. Moreover, the consepuence of joke might lead to big problem. I experienced once when I was in senior high school. I made fun of my best friend unintentionally; nevertheless, she took it seriously that she even cried. After discussing, I apologized to her even though I didn’t think it was total my fault. I think the best way to solve misunderstanding is discussion.

    I think I am a talkative person. I like to chat with people, so it will has some misunderstandings when I talk too fast and don’t think much carefully. Because I know I have that problem, I usually tell the person who I chat with that if I say something that you don’t know what I’m talking about or you don’t agree with that, just tell me and I will explain it. I don’t want people misunderstand me. Therefore, if people tell me that I have something wrong and give me a chance to explain it, I will be very thankful and we won’t misunderstand each other.

    The last time was in my high school life. From grade 10, there was one girl , she kept saying ill behind my back and spread the rumors. And I regarded her as my “best” friends. That was one of my best friends told me that she did this that I found out. I didnt know where went wrong between me and she. But clearly I’ve learned. I was struggled in these bad rumors. And tried to do something stupid to end my life. Because I think it can be over anyway. But luckily , my friends and teachers helped me. And now, I’ve grown up. I know what is right and wrong. I wont do such a thing again. But somehow I just dont trust people like I used to.

    One day,I found that half pack of my candy which my friends gave me for the christmas was disappeared.I strongly believe that my brother ate my candy.However,
    it is my grandpa who ate my candy at midnight.I am ashamed of myself for I misunderstood my brother without any retionality.He was very angry,and refused to talk to me for almost three days.But,this is all my fault.I need to accept all the result caused by myself and beg for forgiving.Thanks for his kind,he forgave me in the end.By this experience,I leared something from it.

    When I was in junior high, I had a very good friend, Jack.
    Almost everyday I shared my feelings with him.
    Why not? He’s my good friend.
    One day our classmates started a rumor, it said that Jack and I had fall in love, but actually we didn’t, of course!
    When I heard the rumor, I felt very sad.
    But I wasn’t afraid of the rediculous rumor but worried about losing Jack, who was my intimate friend.
    After I asked Jack of his feeling, he said it’s not an interference to our friendship.
    And I was so thankful about he told me that.
    Now I grow up so I will laugh out loud when thinking of this.
    It’s so childish, not only the boys who depressed the rumor but also myself.
    How about Jack?
    We are still close friends now, and it is the truth what will prolong for…… maybe more than ten years.

    When I am in the senior high school, I have had a best friend. We were very close and did not have any secret between each other. But one day I found that she slandered me behind closed doors. She said that I always told her secrets to another girl that we know. I tried to tell her that I did not tell the girl any of her secrets. But then I detected that she told that girl some of my secrets. And the fact was that I did not do anything but she slandered that I betrayed her as if that was the truth. I were exetremely disappointed and got hurt at that time. And her behavior tell me a lesson that every person need a privacy even though that person is your best friend. And I will keep it in my mind.

    It was very long time ago. When I was a elementary student. I was playing baseball with my calssmates in our school campus. One of us hit a foulball and broken glasses on the wall.And the teacher came,shouted at me.She Said”I will tell this to your mon” And she left without listen my explain.That was the worst teacher i ever met before .What a big misunderstand it was.

    I was always misunderstood by my friends and my family because of the tone of my speaking. Every one of them say that if they don’t focus on my expression on my face, and they would misunderstand that I was angry with them. Actually, I don’t want to cope with that although the fact is that I was not angry with them. To me, it is doesn’t matter if someone have misconception with me because it is always waste time on explaination.     I misunderstood my best friend when I was a senior high school student. Some day he was indifferent to me suddenly. He didn’t talk to me and even pretended not to see me when he encountered me at school. I didn’t know why he ignored me. I was very sad and felt angry at that time. Later, we had not talked to each other for two weeks. One day, I tried to talk to him and asked him why he ignored me then. He said he didn’t angry at me. He only wanted to calm down and said sorry to me. I told him that he was my best friend and I hoped that we could be good friends as before. If you had problems, you would tell me first.     Being misunderstood is very terrible,I don’t want to be misunderstood or misunderstand someone especially by my friends or my family. I remembered that I was misunderstood by my friend. Although I was too angry to believe that she would misunderstand to me, I didn’t want to lose my friend. As a result, I explained to her again and again. At the beginning, she didn’t want to listen to me. But I insisted on explaining to her and I nerver gave up. Finally, she believed me after she was calm down and thought over and over. So, we are still good friend now. I am glad that I insist on explaining to her, otherwise I will lose a good friend maybe.

    But I think the best way to solve the problem like this is: discuss the problem face to face, express how you feel, and try to stand in other’s shoes.

    When I was in high school, my parents often understood me. My school asked us to stay at school until 8:15. I felt very tired every day so when I got home I always in my room and took a break. But my parents thought I was tired because I hung out with my friends and didn’t study at all. I explained that I worked hard at school every day not playing outside every day. They finally considered me and we stopped fighting.

I have learned it when I’m in the five-year junior college. I knew how to got the answer quickly.
    I was done with the question, so I close my eyes to took some rest. At the moment, I felt something closed to me. When I open my eyes, the teacher looked at me, and say “if you do nothing ,and you’ll never acquire it” with her microphone. she is aimed me. but I know I’m done and she is made me in misunderstood. Then, I didn’t have not to say anything, just close my eyes again, and derided she was a fool in my mind.

    When I was little, my mother always buying some snacks and cookies.my sister and I always run the first to eat them.Once , my mother want to eat some cookies, then she found that the cookies were nothing left at all! she quickly looked at me and said:you should left even one cookie for me.At that time i felt confuse, the last cookie was not eaten by me!!so i tought my mother the cookie was not eaten by me.
    them we start to ask my sister was she eat the last one cookie, she said that was not her. and in the end
    the answer who eat the last one cookie was my father .

    Two week ago, in my Cost Accounting class.
    The teacher demands us to computed some question.
    Cause I have learned it when I’m in the five-year junior college.
    I knew how to got the answer quickly.
    When I was done with the question.I think “Maybe I can take some rest now”, so I closed my eyes.
    At the moment, I felt something closed to me.
    When I open my eyes, the teacher looked at me, and say “if you do nothing ,and you’ll never acquire it” with her microphone. she is aimed me. but I know I’m done and she is made me in misunderstood. Then, I say nothing, just close my eyes again, and derided she was a fool in my mind.

    The feelings of being misunderstand were unhappy and uncomfortable. I can’t give an example because I seldom keep it in mind. And I think communication is the best way to solve the problem because it is important to let other people to understand what you think about or how you think about.     Being misunderstood is a frequent occurrence around the world; it’s probably the main source of arguments and disagreements. Recently I have personally not had any disagreements worth writing about but the most common misunderstanding people portray from first impressions of me is from my body language and tone in voice. If I meet new people, they have no idea how lazy of a person I am, thus they read my body language as “I am not interested in becoming their friend”, when really I would love to be your friend. Another misconception others perceive is the tone in my voice. First others get the feeling that I’m rude and in considerate, when really I am just being sarcastic; I can’t help it sarcasm is my second language.

After the exam my teacher thought I was cheeting with my friend because both of us got the same grade.     My first time to be misunderstood was in my senior high.My friend told me a secret that she liked someone.Unfortunately,another boy that was my good friend heard the story and told other people.She thought that I told to other guys that secret and said she wanted to broke up with me.
    I explanded to her many times but she didn’t believe at all.Finally I had no idea so I told that boy about this happening.After he heard it,he said that he can solve the condition.
    Next day,she found me and apologize.

    My best friend told me something that she liked someone who also our friend.Unfortunately,a boy heard the news and told to that boy.
    When my best friend knew this,she asked me whether I did that.I explanded to her many times but she didn’t believe it at all.She even said that she wanted to broke up with me.
    I found out who told the news and asked him to help me.
    Finally, she apologize to me and we became good friends again.

    When I was a senior high school student. I like dance very much so I spend a lot of time to dance.But when I was in third grade,I thought I should spend more time to study and paid more attention in my schoolwork so I told my mother that I want to go to library after school to study.But she thought I was found a excuse to go to play or dance with my friend.I was very sad and dejected first.I reflected on myself.I made up my mind,I wanted to prove myself and showed my determination then my mother will believed me and supported my decision.

    Few month ago I thought my friend was saying sth bad behind me, that really makes me angry. So I had a argue with my friend. But few days later another my friend told me that its not my friends fult but someone is trying to twist us. I felt very sorry about that and do my best try to rebuilt our friendship.     umm…I remember the last time was at my high school. It realy hurts me a lot because I made fun with my best friend. and he did’t regard it as a joke.
    We don’t speak to each other for about 3 months.

    I think, some words we might regard it as a funny joke but, it sometimes become a disaster if misunderstanding happens.

    When I was in elementary school. I fight with my friend.
    Because he misunderstood me.Someone told him that I put a garbage in his bag. He came to me with an angrily face.I tried to explain but he didn’t listen to it. We fight and of course we get punished. We apologize to each other. That was a childish experience.In the situation that someone misuderstand you is very terrible.

    There will be many slanders surround with you, you live in this world. We don’t know who the real mind is forever. Perhaps you were friend, but you were enemy in the next second. I met several times before and I pick one of the instances for you. Although I think the reason to cause the relationship broken with my friend is just a misunderstanding, he though it’s a big disaster. The story is very short and it started on a word. When I was senior high wanted to concentrate on my Chinese class, the man we were friend turned his head and wanted to chat with me. I wasn’t angry and told him softly “Could you turn your head back? I want to concentrate.” And then, a big thing was happened. He didn’t talk with me. I don’t know why and I haven’t asked him the reason. He started to tell everyone the secrets I told him and slandered my reputation. Although I was angry and baffling on the beginning, I think just let it go because the mouth isn’t my and I couldn’t control it. Eventually, everyone knows me knows his mouth is full with nonsense and no one believes him. Briefly, rumor is produced by people, but don’t believe it. If you want to know the truth, you have to find it out yourself.

    I was misunderstood by my classmate when was a junior high student because her was jealous.She asked me to help her send a boy studying in next class a love letter,and I promised.But there was something wrong,the boy tought I was the writter.My classmate didn’t talk to me later,so I have to explain the story to the boy.Finally,she found somethhing misunderstanding and talked to me again.
    I felt confused and anxious in the beginnig,however I knew keeping calm down to tell the real detail was impotant fo me.

    The misunderstanding was happen in few weeks ago. In that lesson ,professor called my name to answer the question. I didn’t answer it quickly. I am just nervouse. She thought that I am not focus on her lesson. I could not said anything. That feeling wasn’t good. I didn’t explain to teacher. I thing just let it go.

    The experiences of being misunderstand were bad. I don’t get it why so many people think of others without thinking. They just followed the rumor, and that makes me feel angry. The last time i was misunderstood was happened in my high school year. There are some disagreements between me and the other classmate and he try to let everybody hate me. Since that, I was suffered from so many bad things. Although I was depressed, I didn’t cry in front of the classmates who were treat me badly. I just go on with my live, encouraging myself to be brave. It is hard for me to ignore those bad things, but I have no choice. I know I must be overcome the difficulty.

    Living in this world, people have to learn to cope with every thing. Sometimes, we’ll face a difficult situation, that’s a chance to practice solving problems. I had been slandered and misunderstanding by my best friend, I feel so sad and depressed. At first, I thought my method may be good to them; however, I was wrong. They didn’t get along well, even more, they had an argument. I’m so sad and feel sorry. I said to her I was wrong, but I really want you happy. Maybe my behavior was wrong. After I confessed these to her, she considered. Then our relationship returned as I called her. She said sorry to me too. And also she told me, if she was I, she may do the same thing to avoid starting a quarrel. I am so happy we are back in good relationship now.

    The most unbearable thing is something you didn’t do it but others think you’ve to charge it .In the senior high school of the first semester ,it’s a Chinese class and we had a small test .I did’nt pay attention to my teacher carefully when she said how to mark the test. I marked my classmate ‘s score quickly then I felt I had bad luck at that moment .Unfortunately,my teacer asked me why I cheat in this test. I was so nervoous that I explained unclearly .My teacher considered me that it’s an excuse .Besides,she told me that I should be punished by school.After class,I burst out crying.
    My Chinese teacher called me to come her office.I still crying loudly in the office because I did not do it at all.
    At the end of talking to my teacher, she did’nt tell the school what I did.But I still feel that she did’nt believe me.In order to prove me I’m innocent ,I study very hard in this subject.Finally,I got the good grades on the final test.Then I thought my teacher really believed me .It’s a bad experince i’ve ever had.But it teach me a good lesson “Pay attention to your teachers whatever ther say”

    When I was in high school, we had a volleyball game. All of the students needed to play the game. In order to win the champion, we kept practicing every weekend. Oneday our teacher found some garbage in cabinet and said that was I did. I said I didn’t do that,however, she don’t trust me. Finally, she puinsh me. I felt very angry about that bad experience.
