If I Were the Bus Driver, . . .

A bus driver is a highly demanding job. S/he not merely has to work long hours, but to stay alert, watching out for the traffic and managing the passengers. In this lesson “Ivan’s Long Ride”, Sherrie the bus driver came up with a plan to rescue Ivan’s urgent need. going pee. In carrying out her plan, Sherrie  first off  comforted Ivan with a little lie, “We would be at your stop soon.” Then she let Ivan get off the bus “in the middle of nowhere” where no one could see Ivan go pee, to save Ivan’s face, even though the road crew indeed saw what Ivan was doing. As the end of the story, Sherrie wrote, “They were all standing, mouths wide open, wiping tears of laughter from their cheeks.”

How caring and meticulous the bus driver is! What do think of the bus driver? “Do you think the bus driver found the best solution for Ivan’s problem? Why or why not? Would you have dealt with it differently? How? Please explain.

    I think the bus driver found the best solution for Ivan. Because the driver’s job is just sending children home safely.But the driver is a caring person. She came up with the solution.It did help Ivan and was thoughtful.That’s a really great idea.

    I think this bus driver found the best way to help Ivan. She not only rescued Ivan’s urgent need but also saved his face. The bus driver is a thoughtful person. If I am the bus driver, maybe I will do some thing just like the bus driver does.

    The way ,bus driver used is intelligent. But I think it is not the best way.Because it is unhealthy to let a child to go pee for a long time.If I were the bus driver,I would help him to use the restaurant from his classmate’s home.

    The bus driver is responsible for the students’ safety.
    I think she find the best way to solve it.
    If I were the bus driver , I would also activate the red lights .But I would open the bus door to let Ivan get off the bus as soon as possible.Maybe I would not handle with care and calm like bus driver.

    I think it’s a good way to solve the problem.Because she solves the problem and Ivan exactly gets better.However,there are other plans.I would let Ivan go to the Curtis’ home owing to there’s nobody doesn’t know Ivan has to pee.It’s cleaner and properer.Or take him to the gas station.

    I think this bus driver found the best solution for Ivan’s problem. Because she tried her best to help him go to pee and let him fekt more better.
    I think I will use another method to deal this problem. I will take Ivan to nearby gas station or someplace has toilet. I think it is more convenient and safe.

    well, I think she found the best solution for him. Altough it is not a good way to pee in the public place like there. But at least, Ivan didnt have to tortured by peeing thing. Also, she is so resposible for students.
    She looks after all of their safty even after when they get off the school bus.

    In my opinion, to take care of the safety of passengers is driver’s responsibility; moreover, it’s more important for school driver. However, how to be a responsible driver and handle all students’ problems out at calm, like teacher, is very difficult. In the story “Ivan’s Long Ride”, the driver figured out a good ideal and solved it deliberately. To sum up, his attitude is worth learning for drivers.

    The bus driver’s plan was smart for Ivan’s condition.
    It’s fine that the road crew saw he peeing because he’s just a first grade boy.
    However, if I were the bus driver, I would suggest that Ivan go to Curtis’ home for peeing.
    Besides, I would ask Ivan to pee before taking buses in the future. To me, this is the best solution.

    After reading this story,I really admired this bus driver.Nowadays, people are more indifferent to each others than before.But the bus driver is very wise and kind,as a result,she successfully solve Ivan’s problem.By the way,if I were the bus driver,i would very panic,but still find the way in the end!

    In this situation,the bus driver was clever,patient and calm.She didn’t blame Ivan but quickly come up with a way to help Ivan.She comforted Ivan and made him feel better.If I were the bus driver,i would feel irritable.I can’t be concentrative when I hear child crying.I probably will shout at Ivan and ask him to hold his urine until got home.

But if I am the bus driver, I’ll let him go to other children’s home to use the toilet. And next time, when children get on the school bus, I’ll ask them if the need to go to the bathroom first.

    Many people assume that somebody must do “big” things such as donating money to charity or being an influential person to become what we call “somebody”. However, this is not the case. Take the bus driver’s case for example. What he did is just to help the blind man get on the bus and take him to his seat. Such thing is subtle but it surely warmed the man’s heart. Just like Mother Teresa once said,” We can do no great things; only small things with great love.” Ordinary people like you and me still can do small things that brighten up a person’s life.

    It was really kind and considerate what the bus driver did.In general,we won’t see such a bus driver to stop the bus aside for someone who wants to pee(or do anything else).So,I think that the plan the bus driver made was the best.And I would do the same thing as the bus driver.

    The driver is blight and capable about flashing on the considerate plan.Yes,she finds a perfact idea lest for fear that the other passengers see Ivan having a dig problem pee on the bus.If I were the driver,I would do the same,but maybe I would drive faster.

    I think It is a good way to solve Ivan’s problem. But this solution just suit younger children. For the bus driver,it is difficult to control all of conditions happen in the bus. However, this bus driver was capable to think such an idea and took the responsbility for her passangers.If I were her, I might want Ivan to pee in Curtis’ home.

    Actually the bus driver was very smart, calm, but the thing that I truely admire is her patience and consideration. Every job has its difficulties and hardships sometimes, so has the bus driver. Imagine she need to take those kids back andd forth everyday. She need to be reponsible for the safety of those childs. She need to afford the burden of those children’s life.
    How had the job is, but as a girl says Ivan want to go pee, it seems that there has not any sign of impatient appearing on the driver’s face. The bus driver, however, comes up with a way and try saying something to calm down Ivan’s agitation.
    If I were the bus driver, I think I will do the same thing that she did, and I feel like that taking care of a child the most basic and most important thing is to have patience.

    I have finishd reading the article”from Noody to Sombody” on The Voice.The bus driver is really coniderate to the other.All he want to do is to make sure the if Jack want to wait for the bus he drive.After reading the sory make me know that everyone can have their own noble value when they find the right way to use it.

    If I were the bus driver, I would tell the same white lie to Ivan.

    For the urgent situation, I think it is fine to tell a white lie to someone.

    However, I consider the driver should have asked someone older than Ivan to company him because there was no home, but just brush and trees.

    I am afraid of the danger Ivan might be faced with.

    Mostly, I deem the driver dealt well with this condition.

    A kind, enthusiastic bus driver is really care about his passengers. He did notice that there’s a blind person taking his 251 bus all the time. Even though it is not the peak- time during that moment, Jack, the blind person, give all his heart praying to God, hope there is someone can tell him when he needs to get on the bus. Fortunately, the 251 bus driver gets off the bus and asks him to get on the right bus. If I were the bus driver, I think I would do the same things as the bus driver does. Help people anyway. Do the right thing at the right time. Do not let the chances passed by you. Although we just a “nobody” now, but one day, we’ll become a “somebody.”

    In my viewpoint, If I’m the bus driver, I’ll tell Ivan don’t let the road crew see you because is so shame!

    I consider the bus driver’s ideas was great. It not healthy for people when we want to go pee but wecan not go. Although there were no homes, only trees.     After reading this interesting story, I feel the bus driver was really kind of little Ivan.And I think at that time the solution is correct way to Ivan because there had no home in sight.If I was the bus driver,maybe I well dealt with it at the same way .To pee is very important to everyone,so in the situation , Ivan have no choice but to pee at the side of the road.

    I think that this article is very qualified with educational meaning. This article tells us how to be a good person. And, another meaning is our sense of morality. Let everyone know that just a little devotion to beneficiaries is very important. According to this article, bus driver is very friendly and enthusiasm. To the bus driver in this article, as soos as someone have difficult, he or she will help them. In our daily life , we also have a lot of things we can do. For example, we can offer our seat to elder people. However, most younger people almost don’t offer their seat especially. So, Taiwan’s education must be self- criticism. In order to become “somebody”, we have to behave ourselves first.

    I don’t think it’s a best solution for this problem.Going to pee is the thing that you can’t endure.It’s not good for health.I would let Ivan go to pee when I pass through the convenience store or a gas station.

    Not only do you have to drive carefully but take care of all the kids in car. I think I will not do so well as the driver because I don’t have cofident to deal with all the problem I meet. So I think the driver really do a good job.

    I felt really touched after reading the short article ”from Nobody to Somebody”.Especially when the bus driver got off and asked Jack if he were waiting for bus 251.Benefiting a fellow human being in a thoughtful and gracious way was always what I would try to do now and in the future.I find it passionate and optimistic to help people who needed help,care and compassion.While benefiting your fellows,you will receive something that is quite precious,something that makes you stand out among others.It’s even unnecessary to be well-educated or equipped with many abilities.What really counts is your intention and attitude toward the fellow human beings that you want to give a hand to.The value does not lie in what job title you earn and how wealthy you are,but in how you benefit a fellow human being.After realizing this fact,you will turn from a nobody into somebody.

    I think that the bus driver is a nice person. I’ve once met a bus driver that yelled to the pessengers, which shocks all the pessengers inside. kids in the ages of Ivan really needs a lots of care and patient. It’s not easy no matter in what kind of job.

    It is a good way to solve the problem.Although the bus driver told a lie, he came up with a effective way to let the thing get perfect.The bus driver is so thoughtful and clever that it is a pleasure to be her passenger .If I were the driver,i probably couldn’t think of this idea instantly.In that situation,I would be very nervous and couldn’t help but breaking the journey to take him to have a pee.What an ideal solution the bus driver make!

    I think that the bus driver is a nice person. I’ve once met a bus driver that yelled to the pessengers, which shocks all the pessengers inside. kids in the ages of Ivan really needs a lots of care and patient. It’s not easy no matter in what kind of job.

    I conside that the driver did find the best solution for Ivan’s problem.The driver was so intelligent that came up with such a perfect way to solve such urgent situation.If I were the bus driver, I would do the same.I had heard that the bus driver have responsibilities for passengers who had got on the bus.The driver has to make passengers’safety at the top priority.

    I think the bus driver didn’t find the best way to solve Ivan’s problem.Because it was not a emergency that the driver couldn’t stop the bus on the half way just for Ivan wanted to pee.And if Ivan got off the bus to pee,then he may hit by cars,it was so dangers.To my point of, if I were that bus driver,I would not let Ivan go,then ask the student wheather Ivan could go to his or her home to peeor not.I think this is the est way to save this problem.

    I think she made the right decision. Yes, she was doing the right thing. If I were her I will do the same thing because when I was a kid, my mom do the same thing when I was having this kind of urgent need.     I think the driver’s method is pretty good. Ivan’s stop is much farther than Curtis’s stop. So in order to solve this problem, the best way is get the nearest stop to let Ivan pee. If I were the driver, I might do the same thing. I can’t let those kids get on my bus comfortably, however, get off my bus uncomfortably.

    Yes, I think she found a good way for the promble because she could slove somthing happened suddenly. Yes, I would do it diffrently. I would find a plastic bag to let him pee in it .And if the situation was urgent , it is ok to let him pee on the bus .Beacuse the pants could soaked up the pee and I would find clothes and let him put on it to change for its wet pants.

    Bus is impotant for people who have to take it everyday, so being a bus driver, I think, is very honourable and needs a sense of responsibility.
    I want to drive around Tawain, helping everyone who in need.
    I would watch the passengers‘ happy or angry, sad or joyous, feel their emotion just like reading stories.

    The solution the bus driver came up with was great because it was not only solved the problem but also saved Ivan’s face. If i were the bus driver, i will give Ivan a plastic bag or bottle(I know the solution is probably not good…) because of the consideration of his physical health.

    I think the bus driver come up with an appropriate solution to deal with Ivan’s problem , if I were the bus drive, I will do the same way. But perhaps there are better ways, for example can go to his classmate on the toilet at home. It’s a safer and cleaner way. And Ivan doesn’t fear of somebody may see him.
