AFL Top 10

“Blessed are those who don’t see but believe” describes a person who has a strong faith in Jesus Christ even he didn’t see Jesus himself in person or the resurrected Christ. For some people this is a very outrageous statement, because seeing is believing. 

Marketing products plays a quite significant role in this business world. How you skillfully package or advertise yourself can make a big difference! So I would ask all of you to market our department as to appeal to more high schoolers who would make AFL their departmental priority as they choose their major fields of study.

I’ll post the best Top 10 list on the department’s website.

    1. Professional teachers; to be more specific, each of the teachers in AFL has their own special area, e.g., second language teaching, literature and liguistics…etc.

    2. Yearly international conference.

    3. Yearly English drama contest which helps students to learn how to cooperate with others and practice English.

    4. The chances og practical training such as English teaching in 大直 elementary school.

    5. The courses improve students’ four skills.(listening, speaking, reading and writing)

    6. Students take the courses of International Affairs (國際交流學程)so that students can know more international students to learn different culture.

    7. Our couorses are devided into three kinds;they are English teaching and Linguistics, Literature and Traslation , Business English.Students can choose the kind of course they like and be more professinal.

    8. Students are requied to take the course of the second language and students can choose Japanese, Spanish or French according their interests.

    9. AFL help students to be well-prepared to enter graduate schools.

    10. Good facilities provided for students, e.g., portable computer, projector,CD player,speakers…etc

    Sorry that I’ve confused you by the name of AFL. For my students AFL stands for Applied Foreign Languages in which they are studying at Shih Chien. Just like ASU may mean Arizona State University or Alabama State Univserity or other more, AFL could be Australian Football League referred on your web.

    2. Having good equipment than other departments and all of these equipment can improve our English skills.
    3. Some of the girls are pretty than other departments.
    4. Handsome and pretty teachers.
    5. We can increase our second language’s abilities; therefore, we have much language abilities than others.
    6. AFL’s office is easy to find.
    7. All of the teachers in AFL have abundant knowledge and intelligent.

    1. AFL provides courses that training our basic four skills, listening, reading, writing and speaking.
    2. We have other courses can help us learn some professional terms and skills. For example, aviation English, 英語課程設計, etc.
    3. Students have chance to learn second language. (French, Spanish and Japanese)
    4. Every teacher in AFL has his/her own professional area, such as translation, business English, literature and English teaching.
    5. The fee of our department is cheaper than other department.

    1. The department offers us variety courses to choose. The courses including the four skills of learning English.
    2. We sometimes held the competition about English. Like English speech, writing contest and English Jeopardy.
    3. The teachers have their own major, so students can learn different ways of English by teachers.
    4. This department offers us reward if we passing the English test. If we make the conditions then we can apply for reward.
    5. The drama contest holds every single year. The main purposes to hold this contest are cooperation and practice English.
    6. The department offers us a chance to learn second language. You can choose what kind of language you want to learn.
    7. There are many excellent teachers in our department. Such as: Dr. 胡淑娟, a teacher who’s not only friendly but also strict. Once you chose her class, you should make hard effort.

    9. The self-learning classroom offers us the information about English to use. We can also use the computer to do exercise or practice the listening.
