As we discussed the article “Living on Tokyo Time”, Americans view time as their own property while the Japanese regard time as a communal resources. Not only two races but you and I will hold the same issue with a different point of view. Think of the difference between how you and your parents view marriage.

When I was a little girl, I had ever asked my mother a question, “Mom, why you married father?” She said to me, “We together because of love.” It’s just a brief answer but contains a lot of meanings. It’s love that makes my parents together; it’s love that they get marriage; it’s love that they form a family; it’s love that they have me. For them, marriage is very holy. After deciding to wed, they are not he or her but them. Just like a pastor asks you, “Are you willing to take care of her no matter birth, older, sickness, and death?” The responsibility is very huge and affect you later life. I had the same concept like my parents and often dreamed that a handsome man can married me in a church. My parents, relatives, people, and god would give us blessings. But now as growing older, just like most modern people’s notion, I think marriage is made of a paper and why I let it decide my life. I have my own right to choose who I want to get together or not and it’s uncertain to wed as long as your lover and you have a common view.

Marriage is a dream to every girls and so do I. When I ask my mother why she wants to get marriage. She says because she met the trouble thing at that time.After she finished it, she got a marriage. At that time, love is not overall. She tells me she will see the man quality. It means he has the shoulder which means responsibility and faith. In addition, he has an excellent appearence and enough tall height. it is diefferent in my view. I think love is more important than everything. However, it isn’t also lack enough money.Most of people would argue with the money whatever parents with child or anyone.Sometimes, I think I am not mature. I always think about everything is wonderful. In fact, it is more challenges to wait us. It can’t rely on love only, it would make trouble. We can’t be a fiery finally.

I think marriage is a holy thing. Lovers should sure they can toleranced each other forever then they get the chance to get marry. However, i don’t think marriage is a very important thing(not everyone have to marry) so maybe i would not marry in the future. Marriage is not necessary because i think if you love each other so why you have to marry? If you want to, i would say conclugration. The most important is: Do you really love he/her?

My parents are kind of conservity ones. So marriage is not a joke or play house to them. I have to say with the times go by people’s value of judgement will change. For me, marriage is like a guarantee or an insurance to love, but it is optional not require. If the lovers have a strong faith with their love. They don’t really need to get marry at all. Can marriage guarantee lovers will never fall apart? Than tell me what is going on with the divorce rate.

My parents view marriage as “Love”, but, in our generation, we think the marriage as “Responsibility” or “Burden”. In our parents’ generation, they get marriaged because they fall in love with someone they really love and care about. They want to organize a family because they love each other and give each other the feeling of home. However, in our generation, we think that marriage related to finance, loans, housework, etc. Young people like as are totally afraid of marriage. Marriage, to us, means a lot of responsibilities so in our generation, most of us won’t get marriaged. We think that marriage doesn’t represent how deep you love this guy or woman. We can still love the person we care about without the constraint of marriage.

Marriage is spiritual and it can’t change constantly. In my parents’ era, marriage is love and responsibility. They love each other, so they think they should get together and have ancestors. They are responsible to their mate and they would like to live long together forever. In my era, it doesn’t change of the marriage. It is also love and responsibility but we can still love each other without the marriage, without the ceremony. If we have to marry someone we don’t love, we would condemn the marriage.

Though my parents did not love for freedom, they had the same view on marriage as I. It was common that girls wanted to date with a handsome boy. What really attracted girls might be the boy’s appearance. Then, having gotten along with each other, girls would find out boy’s inner characteristics. If they noticed that they did not fit in with one another, break up might be the solution. However, choosing a suitable mate seemed as a significant turning point that would change two family’s future. I believed that a lovely couple needed not be composed by handsome man or charming woman but mutual respect was necessary. It was inevitable that two mate would held opposite opinion toward one thing. How to accept one another and comprise without quarrel played as an cruel role in building a happy marriage.

To my parents, marriage is very important; it can bring huge effect to people. They always say marry to a right person can make people have better life, but marry to a wrong person will get much trouble. They also emphasize “Love” and “responsibility” are two keys of successful marriage. I agree with this idea. Many couples marry to each other because of love, but marriage can’t maintain well without responsibility. If both wife and husband lacking in responsibility, their marriage may have many problems, because they don’t care their spouse enough. To me, if I can find a right person, marriage is good. I think before meeting an appropriate person, marriage is not necessary.

Marriage is the union of two different surnames, in friendship and in love, in order to continue the posterity of the former sages, and to furnish those who shall preside at the sacrifices to heaven and earth, at those in the ancestral temple, and at those at the altars to the spirits of the land and grain. I think my parent’s marriage is very happy. Because they are not blind date, instead they are falling in love at the first sight. So I think as long as they still love each other their marriage will be full of happiness.

Of course, for my parents, their marriage is based on love and trust, but I think the other reason is responsibility. Every child almost asks the same question to their parents. Why mom or dad want to get marriage each other rather than other person? My mom’s answer is that because they believe their love which can experience every problem together. Therefore, they decide to marry. I also have the same concept from my parents. Marriage has to exist above reasons or cannot maintain it forever.

Why do you want to get marry? Some people say that “oh! Never get marry, because marry equals grave.’’ And there’s another kind of view said “yes! You must get marry, because that’s the most romantic thing in the world!” I think I would be the one that willing to get married. Since I was child, I love those beautiful wedding dress. And I think the influence from the family is really important. My parents show a successful marriage thus that make me felt marriage is wonderful. I have several same ideas on marriage. First, we think after marriage, the family is the more important than job. Second, wife and husband both have to work very hard for this marriage. Third, we think never easily to divorce. Those are just few views I was same with my parents. I can say that we just think it’s amazing to get marriage.

Marriage is sacred, two lovers become one soul. Although I think to have a family is not my ultimate goal but my lifetime goal. I want to have a lover but I do not want to besiege by marriage. Marriage is not essential to me. However, my mom says that marriage is a security to our females if something trouble happens like the lover changes his heart. If it really happens we can seek the proper way to strive the right. I agree part of her words but I do not agree that only getting marriage can prevent my right and to promise our love never change. And marriage is just a outer procession and a marriage certificate. They do not convince me to have a marriage.

If you know you marriage will not last forever, why getting marriage? For me, marriage does not mean the two people’s world. Marriage means that bonding between your family and your future husband’s. In fact, if you were married, you got more things to worry about. Marriage is especially a pressure to women. You got more housework to do, kids to take care, or clothes to wash. You no longer have your leisure for a cup of tea. When I was little, I dreamed one day I would dressed in pretty dress and have my own family. But now, I will think twice before say yes. -

Once my parents and I talked about marriage. They asked me whether I will marry in the future or not. I told them that I do not get married. They were surprised because they thought my answer was of course. So, my parent and my relatives think every girl should marry when they grow up. To them, marry is mean you are adult and you can support a family. However, marriage for me mean it is no freedom any more. And, I have financial pressure because I need to earn money to raise my child.

My parents view marriage as an obligation. They consider raising childeren, doing housework and making money as an obligation, too. Of course, it includes love.
In my opinion, I totally agree with mw parents’ view. At the same time. I want to mention that trust is equal important. In some marriage cases, most of couple will divorce because of lacking trust. As you can see, trust is essential for marriage.
