We all agree that by listing to John’s message we’re all encouraged on way or the other. As mentioned in his speech, “there are no mistakes, only lessons.” Life definitely is a lesson learning process; we have to learn it on our own. As Benjamin Franklin put it, “He who is good at making excuses is seldom good at anything else.” Let’s face our failure and fail forward.

Recently, I fail to my love. I am afraid of facing lost. Nevertheless, I still have a hope in my life. If I don’t want to let him go, the ending could change or not. No one could save me. Now, I really want to forget all things.

The last time I exceedingly fail was taking the midterm exam of music when I was in high school. The plan was one of my friend sang, another one played piano and I played flute. We guessed if nothing went wrong we could be placed number one because others’ performs were not a big deal but “pride goes before a fall.” The situation were totally out of control when we on stage. Our pianist kept playing the wrong note; the singer influenced by the pianist and turned out the song was disharmonic; I was so nervous that my fingers were shaking and didn’t know what I was doing most of the time. To sum up, we screwed up. Feeling frustrated and guilty because I believed I was the mistake-maker. I would feel better if they yell at me but my lovely friends were not blaming me a bit. For almost a month, I refused and afraid to practice my flute. One day, an idea came into mind. I love playing flute; it made me know who I was and what I wanted, though the day in the classroom really hurt me, I would took it as a lesson and kept moving on.

I don’t know whether I’m too optimistic or not. I even can’t recall any failure of mine. I think something called failure should be a big fault, or it just can be called mistake which means it is a tiny failure. If it must have to tell about my failure, written translation class perhaps the most frustrated class of all. I can promise that I study very hard in this course, but my grade usually very low. Each time in class, we discuss the homework which has to finish before class. The teacher would analyze the sentences or paragraphs and choose the most appropriated one of all. Look other classmates’ translation; I’m really admiring their translated ability from the bottom of my heart. I understand what my weakness of translation is. The biggest problem of me is I can’t make a sentence present in the other sentence; I usually translate the sentences directly. As a result, I often feel I fail in written translation class. I hope I can overcome this and try my best to be a good translator.

The last time I fail was when I had a first test for college. I got a good grade for the first test then I had a choice to enter my preferred university. However, I didn’t prepare for another test—interview. Before that interview, I had to enhance the English skill of listening and speaking first. But, I didn’t do it so that I didn’t know what testers asked and I couldn’t answer, either. So, I failed to enter my preferred school. I was sad but finally I made up my mind to get the next chance. In the end, I enter another school but it was funnier and much better than that one I like. Although it isn’t exactly I want, I had a great in the school now.

Seldom did I look on the bright side as failures came up especially those things that I was not very good at it. The grade was too low for me to accept it while I was a freshman in oral class taught by Dr. Chen. One time, we had to go front to give 2 mints’ speech. Dr. Chen had already told us the time limit but I was too nervous to control my time. I either go over 2 mints or less than 1 mint. Everyone stared at me seemed to be a kind of pressure. Even as I looked at Dr. Chen, her stern face shocked me thoroughly. Again and again, I went on the stage but later lined up behind the next student to give the speech one more time. Still, I failed again. Nearly tri-times did I give the same speech and I could not endure anymore but cry. The last time, my tears stirred in my eyes and I hold them last they would fell. I finally confronted it rather than give it up. This lesson was a nightmare but I learned how to fail forward and stand up again.

The most impressive I fail terribly is got a very bad score on linguistics when I was freshman. As I got the paper after midterm, I was really sorry to Dr. Hu because she always gave me small gift on big event day such Christmas, Halloweens and so on but I did not do well. Especially I am the assistant of this subject, the teacher have high expectation on me. When I went home, I told myself I must study harder and then get a beautiful score back on final exam. Step by step my grade increase, and on the final I GOT 85!! That was a dramatically improvement. Failure is not a shame, if I can learn from the failure then it is a valuable failure.

The most unforgettable fail when I recevied the report card from Carol. When I saw the results I was totally destroyed. Because I think I’m a industrious why I got such a low score. Whenver I do a presentation I always well- prepared and rehearse many times. I was really upset when I saw the report card. Until now, I still can not figure out what are the problem and this presentation will be my nightmare for a long time. But after look the video Learning to Fail Forward I know that I can not be so pessimistic and depressed. I must face the problem then I will overcome the difficulties.

The recent failure I made was become fat. A research shows that most women believe they are fat so they control their weight by eating and exercising. Now I also have the same condition like them. I was very thin before. My body is so slim that my friends said that it looked like I would fall down by the wind. Cloth of size S on my body was still loose. No matter how high calorie foods I ate, my weight still didn’t change. I decided to change this situation so I abandoned myself to eat so much. After half and year passed, as a result, my weight out of control. From last semester to now, I had already gained five kilometer. I am regret and hope the thing never happen now.

I believe you loss something, provably you get more special experience or interesting goods, maybe its job, money, even is lover. We can from this trouble to find some important things and learning to pass. Of cause, our national father just that person. He led people to revaluation a dilapidated empire. Anyway, he failed ten times, He didn’t give up and keep going.

When I was in tenth grade, I got 30 points in my physics exam. It was a midterm exam and that was the lowest points I have ever had. I still can remember that the physics teacher asks me “Are you a foreign student?” That was quite humiliated for me. Since then, I promised to myself I would not be defeated by the physics. I tried my very best to get a high score. Eventually, I got 93 points for my final exam.

Recently, the most impressing failure was happened during last semester. It happened around Christmas. Because we’re the student association, we ought to hold all kinds of activities to calebrate the day or somethimg important. Every time we hold activities, I am worried about the participants whom will come or not. I tihink no matter the activity is designed good or bad, the most important thing is the rate of participants. To the whole thing, I believe it is meaningless that the activity is held well but there are not any participants coming.
I’m not saying that there were nobody coming. I just want everyone whom in AFL department can be enthusiastic and support each other. Idon’t know, I was bitterly disappointed and felt frustrated at that day. Now, I’m fine. Just take a deep breath and see what I have, everyday is a beautiful day again! -
Two days ago, the most impressing failure was happened. That was my linguistic report. That subject is very difficult for me. I had been failed at freshman. At this semester, I learned this course and tried to work hard. I have to present a report depend ed on myself without professor teaching. I knew that is a necessary and important part for me to get this score. I tried to work hard but professor still considered that I was not responsible for myself. I felt so depressed, Sometimes even you think you were very serious to prepare but the result can,t reach your exception, you will felt so depressed. I still believe that that is a good lesson for me to learn some skills to make a presentation.

I try to lose weight in this winter vacation. My ideal goal was decrease two kilograms, but in the end of this winter vacation, I got 2.5 more kilograms. How ironical! This result was absolutely opposite. Now I start to think about what the reasons are causing this outcome. First of all, I have to admit that I indeed ate a lot during this Chinese New Year. I have to control myself don’t eat too much, but I didn’t. And I didn’t do enough exercise to lose weight, sometimes I was too lazy to do exercise. Since this event, I know I should control myself strictly after I make up my mind.

The most impressing failure is my piano preformance. When I was a senior high school student, I still learn to play the piano. My teacher suggest me and encourage me to play it on the stage. Every day I practiced the songs hard. I hoped that I could do it very well. When the music concert was begining, I was so nervous and I told myself that I had to keep my mind calmly. However, I got a trouble when I played the first song. In the process, I couldn’t remember what’s the next musical notation that I want to play. At that moment, I was so embarrassed and recall it very hard. In the last, I just try my best to do a good ending. I think that I have to keep training my stage experience.

After I became a member of the student association, I encountered lots of failure. At first, we were passionate to hold activities because we all wanted to make them unforgettable in college. However, freshmen let us disappoint over and over again because the attendance of freshmen was low.
I was frustrated by these freshmen and I did not want to held activities for them, but I could not reject to do these works. Therefore, I change my way of thinking. I do not care about their attendance, but I focus on to do my job fulfill my role and responsibility. -
Being a member of student association is a great challenge in my recent life. All of the members is student association try to held some interesting activities in our department. But, we feel frustrated when there are a few people come to these activities. We still have to cheer up to make other activities perfectly and let the students who come to these activities feel happy and have funs. In this year, I learn lots of things.Learning to be responsible to your job, how to deal with others. I feel substantial and a little sorrow by handing over the post.

Yes, failure is the only way can help us progress. We should not be afraid of making mistakes. And should like Apple’s founder Steve Jobs says Stay hungry and stay foolish. Stay hungry is mean stay the interesting in everthing and stay foolish is not afraid to make mistakes. To keep these two things in mind, we can be a better man and do better.

I felt there are many fails I have been through since I have been in the college. There’s the most impressive one. I was fail one of my subjects. I did study hard on it, but I just couldn’t get good grades on it. I felt really frustrate when I know I didn’t pass this subject. I asked my classmates how to prepare this subject, and they shared their experiences to me. I know I must change the way to study this subject! I must to overcome this difficulty.
