We all know this: the students’ duty is to study. However, it seems that some people put the priority up-side down. They take many part-time jobs over night and then doze-off in class; they stay up late because of spending much of time playing. They know they are students, don’t they? Yes, they are. But why do they do so? In my opinion, it might be because they ignore their role- the student’s place.
I do not mean they only have to study but no play. It’s good to find outdoor activities. Yet those people must do what the primary thing is- to keep their score on the level. Because it is the basic they should do. Students are usually young people; they should create their own value, such as working voluntarily, do something helpful to the world; nevertheless, do not forget their duty- study. Knowledge makes us powerful. By the way, do something else worth when you have enough time.

As usual, the bell rang all of us were seated and wait for our teacher. When the teacher entered classroom, he soon found that there were “numerous” students today. He sneered and said “I think you are not students of mine. Since this semester I never saw you come to class and now you came and just wanted to pass the final exam”. I was surprised then teacher continued, “Do not be silly, I will fail you and you can go now. If you do not get out classroom then I go.” And the outcome is teacher left.
This incident gives me some inspirations about the student’s place. First, being a student, your responsibility is to study not skip classes. Second, if you have a part-time job, be sure that find a balance between your work and study. Third, it is always good for us to participate in extracurricular activities. Finally, the most important quality of a great student is having a positive attitude. they know the whole world is theirs to conquer. For good or bad, they are determined and upbeat. They learn to smile to even in the face of adversity. -
As I was a freshman of elementary school my momther told me to be a good girl at school; listen and obey to your teacher. After school our teacher told us to be a good kid at home; listen and obey to your parents, and it never changed. In Asian society, a student’s place is considered as a knowlegeable and show a modest behavior in class. For example, when I was in seven grades, one of my classmate raised his hand and asked the teacher if he could explain a sentance again, after he asked this question, my poor classmate was considered to be a naughty student by the teacher who thought he was disturbed by the student. Obeying your parents and teacher is a common sense in Asian society.
The situation changes nowadays, students are not obey to their parents and teachers on everythings but to choose to respect them. -
Since childhood, parents or teachers would always say, “students should be honest, hard-working and diligent.” However, after I grow older, I find the definition changing a lot. Many students play ever time but study two weeks before the exam. It is a trend that students can be less diligent and very relaxed. I admire the students who can play and even study. To follow the trend, there is a saying for university students, “in college, there are three stages to achieve, that is, clubs, love and study.” The definition of student changes to “student should not only study, but also be energetic toward everything.”

In traditional serotype, students should always follow what their teachers tell them and the rules of school. Also, they should absolutely respect teachers and study hard. Few decades ago, many students dare not asking questions to teachers even thought they were confused or curious to something. Because in that some time, people were thought to be submit, and student had to believe their teachers, not suspect. In nowadays society some student some students still dare not ask questions or say something they want to say to teachers. But the situation already became better. Now many students share their opinion with teachers in class. They know they can communicate with teachers and this condition make students learn more and train students think about what their teacher teach them, not just memorize. Furthermore, learning is the most important thing to students; however, students still have to concern our society, not just study from their text book.

As being a student, I have a lot of words to say. Parents always relate students to learning; therefore, I had to learn to play the piano after class in kindergarten. But people knew that little children like to play outside and don’t have a strong desire to learn something, so it was a painful moment when I was playing the piano. However, my parents were not satisfied and sent me to mental arithmetic cream school after class when I was a elementary student, even forced me to attend cream school in junior and senior periods. It was very inconceivable for me to spend most of time learning in my growing process. What my parents did to me made me feel that learning was not a happy thing. Should a student to be forced and doesn’t have the power to make decisions? I was suffered enough and decided that I will not do that to my children.

Everyone will go through this step during growing up. This kinds of step is called the learning step. All of usmust have studied in elementary school, junior school and senior high. And the roles we have played are students. We all know that students’ obligation is to study, go to school and receive education by teachers. Besides this, students have to note other two things. Note No 1. Enjoying learning: each time we study, do not study for tests and try to figure out what you get from reading. More things you understand, more enjoyment you will get. Not No.2 Participate in extra-curricular activities: After you have already enjoyed learning and studying, try to take part in every kind of activity. From participation, you will learn how to interact with other people or how to be a leader. By this, you can enhance your organizational skills. Also it will be a useful tool in the future. Try it! Do not let yourself only know how to study. There are still something important for you to learn.

When it comes to a students’ place what would you think about? I would be reminded of doing a lot of homework, being busy in making friends and also worrying about any kinds of test. My parents always said that “you should take your responsibility for each grade you got!” whenever I heard that I would felt nervous. It seems that you should just focus on “study” as being a student. Should student only study during their school life? I do not think so. I think there is something more important than studying. For me, making friends and learning how to be a good person are more significant. I still remember my teacher told me that “you should make friends with your classmates because they would be more sincere than the friend that you make in the company.” I did not believe those words as an elementary school student. I realized those words after I started working with other people in the cream school. Your colleagues may treat you great as your good friends, but actually they try to be better than you and replace you. Therefore, making friends during the school life important because you can make a real friend; oppositely, you should be a real friend to others. That’s what I mean be a good person.

About hundred years ago in Chinese culture, people thought that whoever could pass the test and get the scholarly honor, he was the very good student. Most of these people studied hard for chasing fame and power. However, what is the main purpose for being a student? What should a student do for our society? What can we teach for these students not just the knowledge in the textbook? There are following s to explain the meaning of good student.
First: teach these students how to respect others. It is important to make them respect other people. No matter who or no matter what kinds of people they will meet in their future, they should respect others.
Second: be honest to everyone and everything. When they make mistakes or get in troubles, they have to confess it to their parents or teachers. Learn to face their failures and be honest to have another chance to make up.
The third one is that they have to learn the manners of dealing with others. There are some rules of morality. It is important to let student know what is right and what is wrong when they have to make some big decisions.
A student’s place, I think that no matter where they are, what kinds of students they are. As a student, they should act like a student and do something like a student.

Some people would be confused where a student ‘s place and responsibility are. It is remarkable that student’s responsibility is study. No one wants to help them to say that they have entertainment. Being a student is not only to study but also have to keep their interest. Some students like to sing songs and they would learn how to play gituar in their lesiure time. It is common that a student’s role is to study hard and get a high score on the academic performances. Do their vision have to limit to the context in the book? How about cultivate their second hobby? Then, a student’s place may be extended to a club’s leader or menber. It is an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their vision and immerse themselves in different extracurricular activities. Sometimes, taking a short-term part-time job during winter or summer vacation is necessary for students to experience how to be a cooperative employee. All in all, an outstading student not always play one role that limits to school but may involves with activities and work to enrich their life!

We have been a student been a student for at least a decade or more than a decade. We have been being different kinds of “roles” for years. From elementary school, junior high, senior high and college. Lots of teachers we’ve met, tons of exams we’ve taken, and what is it like to be a student?
Elementary school is the first step of being a student. Parents are proud that finally their children are a real student and start to learn the basic knowledge of every subject and how to be a man. Junior high school advances the learning of each subject and there come some new ones such as history, and geography. In this part of time, students start to know what the real society is. Senior high school is optional not essential. However, parents expect their child to go further. That is the major reason for students to take the entrance exam. In the senior high years, students might have to decide their own future. Think about their interests towards the jobs fields. Last, being a college student is that you have to be totally responsible to yourself. You have made a decision for you, and you have to take the consequences. A college student is a half grown up. When you graduate from university, you are on your own. You are one part of the society. -
I am a college student now. If you ask me what the definition of a student’s place is, I would say that you can still learn anything what you like because your status is a student. Being a student has some benefits. The first one is that if you do some wrong things or do not good jobs for your assignments, you don’t have to care about other people’ harsh comments. The reason why is that you are a student and of course you have opportunities to do it again. Teachers always tell us that being a student has the right to make mistakes. The other important one is that students can learn many things from themselves fault. If you experience the process of making mistakes, it will help you more in your future, such as your job. On the other hand, being a student is a good way which help you tend to achieve the goal. A student’s place is learning and correcting situation continuously.

A few weeks ago, there was the news about one of senior high schools in Taichung refuse to open classrooms for students to study after school. The school’s students spoke out that they just want to study in school, but the school ignored their inner minds because there are some of their students didn’t study but play tricks. The school considered that it is wasting resources so they decided not to let students study after school.
The school is the basic place for students to study. People receive one-third knowledge from school, one-third information from the society, the rest third from themselves, which means they learn on their own.
The school is a place where students and teachers can build up relationships. The school just likes a small society. Students can observe and practice how to be a excellent person in the future.
The school is the important place to cultivate a successful person. Students receive knowledge, learn how to be a good person, and develop the potential to contribute to the society so that our world could be better and better. -
In the past, many people thought a student’s responsibility is to go to school, learn and get a high score. But, this was not exactly at all.
In my opinion, students also need to know other three things. First, students should really enjoy what they learn, not just study for tests. Otherwise, it just wastes their time and money. Second, students should learn how to respect to everyone. Never ever depreciate someone because of his or her background. Third, students should attend more activities or learn to be a leader. It can help you broaden your relationship and deal with things in mature ways. -
People wear different kinds of uniforms and sitting there concentrates on the screen and you know they are students and studying on different schools. Most of their age is under 18. The place with strong cigarette smelling and ever there is no one are smoking.
In this place where you are male or female, everyone is attention on the screen and focuses on the game. The music is loud and you can barley heard others talk even the person sitting next to you. The only sound there is gun’s shot and the wizard used magic to kill the monsters. These sounds make this place more attractive for young people because in this place you can become the person in the game and do whatever you like. In holidays, here always full with people and always full with people waiting for a computer. People usually spent all day sitting here and play games. Here is like a time machine and the time fly so fast. Students like go there because it’s a place belong to them. -
There is a place belonging to students. That is school. Students study, associate with friends and learn professional skills in this area. Study is the necessary part for being a student. Being a student, test scores maybe not the most important goal in our learning life. School provides a lot of resource like internet and textbooks for us to take advantage. The most important thing in learning process is how much we learn, learn social skills, and gain the ability in English writing, listening and speech.
