My Teacher

Did you see a “wanted” notice posted on the wall beside  the door of the elevator outside our department? The notice has been sent by the Department of Family Education and Children development to seek help from all university students to identify the suspect who stole the department’s multimedia projector. in the library. The notice doesn’t describe what the suspect looked like, but instead has the picture on it. One picture “tells a thousand words.” However a fresh and vivid description creates lasting and fascinating images in a reader’s mind.

We often use description in our daily life such as describing your family, friends, your favorite TV programs and the like. This week as we talked about using description, some tips are recommended in order to achieve its effectiveness (see p. 12), i.e. oberving, selecting the important details, creating a coherent sequence for those details, and convey the result by appealing to the reader’s senses.

As you are writing the first essay and journal entry, please take the above points into account. The topic for online response journal is Your Teacher. Describe, explain, and analyze the teacher you are writing about in one or two paragraphs.

    She has a round face with high cheek bones and a flat nose. She has wavy short hair and a fair complexion. Her eyes are large and she looks a little serious when I first met her. As attending to her linguistic course, seldom did I see her wear pants but a long skirt, instead. One thing that I will never forget is her speech rate which is so quick that I can hardly catch up with her. However, after two year’ training, I had already got used to her teaching style. Taking the elective courses that she taught was a great challenge because she had high expectation on herself, she also asked us to do our work perfectly. I really admire Dr. Shu-Chuan P. Hu. that I learned much more than I had ever thought.

    MS.Yao has a short curly hair, round and bright eyes,fair skin and small mouth. Her voice is very gentle and elegant, so many students sleep easily at her class. However, she still try her best to do us a lecture. In order to inspire our thinking and inspiration, she always asks us discuss the content of her course. She emphasizes the frade is not the most important thing, the most important is what you have learned. I actually admire MS. Yao.

    She is not tall but thin, has a short black curly hair and her skin is snowy. Her voice is very soft when she speaks English, it follows an english accent. The voice is very gentle. She always wears elegantly. Every movement she acted was so graceful. She try hard to let students to know the interesting part of literature, but , somrtimes she will be mad for our uproar. I have to say that she is reallya good teacher, thank you, Ms, Yao.

    She has a thin face with high cheek bone ,and she has long, curly chestnut hair. Her eyes are deep-set and bright and piercing ,and her figure is slim with fair complexion. She is a out-going teacher who likes to make the courses much more diversify. The most impressive courses is that I have ever sell products by video and cook explaination during her class. There is no denying that I have learned a lot from her. But for Ms. Michelle Chen’s conversation training, I wouldn’t have confidence to talk in public. Thanks a million, Ms. Michelle Chen.

    M.s Chen was my oral class teacher when I entered Shih Chien. Although I only learned in her class for about one year, she changed me a lot. She has long, curly hairs. She teaches enthusiasticly and loves to share experiences to us. She likes to make many activities to let us learn more such as that she told us to think about the script when we were catwalking. In addition to the catwalk activity, we also made the presentation of different countries. Then, she would say the experience where she traveled and let us know what we have to be carful about when traveling abroad. She’s an excellent teacher.

    M.s Li has a short straight hair,wearing a pairof glasses,fair skin and small mouth. She is a very nice and paitent teacher. She always smile at students,even we don’t do the presentation or homework very well.In her class, I can know more about the teaching&learning ways which are good for us.She also talk many example to us to understand what she says.I want to say “thank you” to M.s Li. She lets me acquire many knowledge.

    M.s Luo is my oral class teacher in junior. she has wavely hair, goose face and deep double-eye lids. She is the most perfect teacher I have never meat. In her oral class she makes us speak out loudly. Regardless the grammar and something else. Just speak. She helps us make up confidence. And the way she teache is really lively.

    Ms. Lin has short, curly hair. Her eyes are bright and she wears a pair of glasses. She teaches research methodology and writing. In her class, although I forget to preview character or do my assignments, she doesn’t angry with me. During break time, she always talks with her students. I can share what I meet with her, then, she gives me feedback such as some examples or her experiences. I learn about many things from her, so I have to say thanks to her.

    As he walks in, I didn’t expect him to be such a nice guy. Joshua Getz is oral class teacher. At first I thought he migh be some kind of “ABC”, but when he walks in his appearence totally change my mind. He is so tall with a peaceful face. He speaks with a soft tone which won’t make us feel nervous. I can see his passion during the class. He gives us lots of imformation about making a presentation. I found out that he didn’t a strong sence of humor as any other foreigners do. So far, he is the nicest teacher in my junior life.

    She has black, smooth, long hair falls down to her shoulders and surrounds her oval face which is very smooth and dark. She is my high school teacher. To me, she is not only a teacher but alos a friend. Whenever I found myself become more pressure I would ask her some advices. Then she took herself as an example and told me how to solve these difficulties. Although I have been graduated for about three years I still went back to school to visit her and chat with her about one or two hours.

    M.s. Chen is my teacher. She has a curly hair, small face, and a slim figure. The difference between other teachers and her is whenever you see her, she has a smile on her face. That is why I feel that she is friendly and easy to close to her. Besides, you can feel her charming and confidence on her face when she is talking to you. IShe is a very special teacher!

    I want to introduce a teacher change me a lot in junior high school. There are several reasons for me to talk about him. At the first time we met, I was a terrible junior high school student. I was not only didn’t like go to school every day and always argued with teacher in the class, but also fighting with other students. No teacher likes me; they take me as big problem. However, there is one teacher different from others. He would ask my feeling and listened to me. I still remembered how different he was. Once I fight with other school students and some one called my teacher. When he comes, he just want me take a rest. I thought I would have a big punishment by him, but I didn’t. He just wants me to thinking about myself not connect with my parents or others. I feel touching, because before him, other teachers just called my parents and give up me. He didn’t call my parents as well as give up me. He talked many things with me and also told me how to control my emotion. After this event, I prune off my bad behavior. Now, I was glad that I have a chance could met him.

    Ms. Ruan has a curly hair with brown color; she’s not tall but has a moderate body,
    Her eyes have single-edged eyelids, so when she smiles, her eyes become smaller but friendlier, her mouth is small, but when she smiles, it’s just like a moon smiles to us. She is my senior class-teacher, for me, she is special, she encouraged us to replace condemned us, she treated us like her children, she always taught us with her patience, although she taught math which I ‘m not interested in, but she is more patient to teach me until I realize every questions. During our senior high school life, once we arranged a surprise for her, she touched and cry , all of us were happy gave her a impressive memory. No matter how long the time passed, I won’t forget her-my dear teacher, Ms. Ruan.

    Among so many teachers who have taught me, I regard of Mr. Chen, my math teacher, as the most impressive one for me. Mr. Chen is so strong that he always wears T-shirts and shorts everyday except cold wave. He always shows off that he even takes cold shower in the winter. We always ridicule him for his boasting off.
    Mr. Chen hasn’t got married, and everyone always think the main reason is laziness on focusing on his appearance; but I guess the truth is that he tend to become shy when he is talking to females.
    He’s got some gray hairs despite that he’s only thirty. He’s young but smart indeed. Mr. Chen always makes complicate math simple, such as drawing the diagrams instead of a string of equations. His funny tone of speech impressed me deeply, that’s why I like his math class so much.

    Ms. Li has thing face. Under her black hair which is short and curly. Her eyebrows are much light than her hair. Her eyes are a little pale blue, and she wears a pair of metal eyeglasses. Ms. Li has pointed nose, it not like Chinese’s nose is flat. She has high cheekbone. Her mouth is small, but her lips are thin.
    Ms. Li is a gentle teacher. Not like other teachers, she always keeps smile and good mood to teach her students passionately. She always is a competent teacher. Even though the things are difficult to understand for students, she always can use another simple ways to explain the key points so that we can easily realize what the completed content are talking about. In her class, I usually feel very relax and no pressures. I only keep on Ms. Li’s steps and I can learn many things from her. Thanks to her, I have more professional English knowledge during these three years. I’m really appreciated of her very much.
