Learning Without Education

After a long consideration and struggling within her mind, Meg at last decided to take one year off before entering college. She did learn a lot during the year of self-searching or actualization, whatever we call it, such as delivering babies and teaching an old man the alphabet and the man showing him how to make furniture. Right now she has earned her master degree in Family Studies.

Do you consider taking some time off before entering the job market or graduate school after college? What would you like to do during that period of time?

    If I can choose, I would like to take one year off before entering college. Not all of students who prepare for enter college know what they want to do in the future. Perhaps they don’t find out their interests in something. Even they don’t understand themsleves. I have passed the grey adolescent period so I can understand Meg’s mind. If I can go back to the period, I want to go out of school for searching myself. Then, maybe go back to college or have a work-study program.

    If I take one year off before entering college, I think I will try to take some part time jobs. Because I am not sure what I an interesting in, And I think to do some job is a good way to let me find the interesting. Then, I can depended on the interseting to decide what sobjuct to major. I think not everyone have to go to college, but we live in a not perfect world and we have to follow other peoples do.

    I never to think about taking one year off. I think that it has divide into several parts in our life. Every section has different goals.I would achieve the goal. Maybe it is not easy and it also have to face the problems.That is life. If I really take one year, I also want to have a full-time job. I really hope that I could earn the house by myself.

    I would consider taking some time off before entering the job market. A part-time job would be the best choice for me. Having been studying for 12 years, I had never earned money by myself. I was fully protected by my parents who gave me financially supports. Thus, I hadn’t worried about money. Though I had ever thought about taking a part-time job during the semester, I was afraid of abandoning my academic work. I was not a person who could make a balance between academic work and job. If there was an opportunity for me to take some time off so that I could fully immerse myself in doing part-time job, I would really appreciate. The job market seemed to be more complicated than school life. I would like to experience and explore the job field before entering college so that I would knew what I had to master in the future.

    If I could choose, I’d like to take a year off and then go to work or school. In that year, I would like to do whatever I want. Maybe I would travel to the country I’d like to go such as Australia. Maybe rent some DVDs that I had no time to watch before. Maybe getting a part time job would also better.

    In my opinion, I wouldn’t choose taking some time off before entering job markets or graduate school. Especially for the boys in Taiwan. We have to serve in the military and that takes one year. For me, one year can achieve a lot of things rather than finding what am I really interested in.

    I would take some courses about job to realize what kind of abilities is the society need in the work place, and I will find job that associated with what I learning, or what I am interested in to earn some job experiences, job market is different from school life, so knowing how to live in the society is important, it’s necessary to prepare these things to confront the job in the future.

    In my opinion, during our lives, we face many problems. I think that the education which we receive in school is sometimes not enough to solve them. So I will take one year off to the job market. From the moment we were born, our parents taught us to live a virtuous life. They told us the right way to live and were role models throughout our childhood. Also, in the company the colleagues taught us how to get along and cooperate from everything as long as we pay attention, so we have to seize every opportunity to learn.

    I think that I will choose to take one year off before entering college. This might be another experience in my life. To travle, to know other people, to learn cultures of other countries, to live a different life. During this year, I can have a lot of time to figure out what kind of things are I really want to do in the future. A

During this year, I can have a lot of time to figure out what kind of things are I really want to do in the future. For example, my job, my study. And making some big plans, some big difference. But, who knows what might be happened in the future? I just try to do sothing by my feeling.

    I think it’s ok that taking one year off before entering the job market. In this period time, I can choose some part time job or continue to study and think what I like and what I want to do in the future. Finding the way you like and interest in that is very important, I believe that if people can know more about themselve, they must be enjoy their choice which they want.

    I think take one year off before go to college is a good experience if I could. Actually besides study, I think there are still a lot of important works in my life, study is one of it but not all. Take a long trip to or have a job before going to college are good experience. Because that can make the young realize more about this world, learn some morals from work and extend my view. In my opinion, if I don’t waste time, taking some time off is good to me.

    Maybe I will consider having one gap year to carefully think about what I’m going to do or to study and how to make use of time. For me, it’s no difference to learn things in school and in job market;both to take a part-time in the gap year and to take some course I’m really interested in are beneficial.But one thing is really important , I should really know what I lack now and think about what can I learn to fill it .
    As what I experienced in the gap year, I took some financial classes in cram school owing to my interest in stock market. I search for a lot of imformation and news about daily finance to full myself. In addition, I now take many classes about business to advance myself.
    As a result, no matter what decision you make , stick to that and reach your goal step by step.

    If I take one year off before entering college, I will do a part-time job to learn soe social experiences. Although in my points of view, Educatuon level is more important than everything. I still want to learn some special skills or experiences that can’t learn in school. I have a part-time job in Starbucks coffee and this work enrich my life a lot. Although I have to make a balance between school and work. Time always not enough to prepare many things. But I always can learn something that i’ve never know before.

    I don’t want to enter the graduate school after I graduate. I think I would find a job such as public official or inherit my parents’ business. My mother has told me that she had ever planed to expand the scale of business, my brother and I must have to help her to accomplish it. The premise is I didn’t find a job or study continual. During this period, I think I would decide which road is fit me. If I finally found that I need high degree to maintain my job, I would come back to study. I believe that I can learn more in society than school. Many reasons and experiences couldn’t learn from rigid textbooks. It is said that jumping from the books, and experience the events by you.

    I would take some time off before entering the job market or graduate school after college. Learning is not only can be done in the school, as long as you pay more attention around your life, even a stranger can learn from him. If I have this chance to take some time off before ebter the job, I would like to travel the whole world by myself. (A presupposition is that I have sufficent money to support me.) Everything must do by myself, even booking the hotel or asking the destination in unfamiliar language. I have to work with myself. I believe after traveling, I will be better than before.

    If I chose again, I could take some time off before entering college. Most of students don’t know what they want to do in the future like me so I suggest they can stop the studying and contact with the society. If I were them, I could take some part-time job and learn about working experience and interpersonal relationship. Then, I spend the money I earned traveling some country to broaden my horizons. I think that is helpful for my college life.

    There is a skill that I learning without education. This skill is cooking. I learned it from my mother and my grandmother. I love cook and also enjoy in cook. Maybe there are some people think that cooking is difficult and dangerous, but I never feel that. I started to learn how to cook when I was in junior high school. At first, I learning how to fried rice, and my family had eaten the fried rice for a week! Ha! Ha! Now I could a lot of different dishes, therefore, my family could eat many kind of food!

    I consider it is a good advice that taking some time off before entering the job market or graduate school after college. For me, I will like to go to the (drama) troupe to learn something about drama during that period of time. I want to learn some more about making drama. Maybe in (drama) troupe, I can get some inspiration and learn how to cooperate with other people. I very enjoy the feeling that is whole team work together. Another thing I want to do is go to the bookstore to read some books. I like to read books which about life attitude and leadership. I believe they are useful in my life and work one day.

    If I can choose, I will choose to take one year off before entering college. I think this is a good chance to have another different experience to see the world. I can travel to anywhere I want to go. To live a different life, to taste different food, to meet different people in other society, to experience a different culture. I might learn a lot of things during this year. I can also fugure out what is I really want to do in the future. What kind of occupation I really want to do? And I want to make friends in other countries.
