Special People

Looking back on your life, who is the person that keeps you unforgettable? This week you will write another example paragraph about a special person, focusing on three good qualities of this person and using examples as support. You will display your paragraphs in a class portrait gallery next week (bring the person’s paper photos or drawing portraits ONLY, no digital photo allowed). The sample example is as follows:

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Wood, my grandmother, died many years ago, but she is still one of my favorite people.  Although she was too strict, she had many good qualities. One of these was her love of learning.  She had little money and lived on a farm, but she wanted to learn as much as possible.  For example, after she finished all eight grades at her rural school, she took a one-month course in teacher training.  It was the globe after dinner and studied the countries on it.  Another of Lizzie’s good qualities was her ability to cook everything well.  Without written recipes, she made delicious bread and desserts, such as fruit pies.  She turned ordinary potatoes into tasty soup she was helpful to everyone.  One time she organized a drama production for kids in her community.  Another time she was the president of a service organization.  Many times she helped her neighbors with the hard parts of their sewing.  Grandma Wood was a strict person, but her good qualities made her one of my favorite people.     My friend Harumi is one of my unforgettable people whom I got to know in high school. What the most impressive feature of her is her vitality and optimistic thinking way. These strong energy comes from her love for family. She lost her mother when she was very young, so since then she started to take the place of mum. She was so busy that there was no time for her to fret or cry. for example, she was getting up at half past four to make everyone’s lunch and came to school spending two hours for one way every morning. School was forbidding students’ working at any accommodation, but she had a part time job at hotel in secret. I believe her father was really appreciated about what she has done. It was really admirable, because she never said complain about her life. At scool, her fantastic ideas always made me laugh terribly. She was extreamely funny. Since we left school, I have not heard from her even once; it has been already 3 years. I know she got a job in a famous hotel because once my mum found she appered in ‘Tokyo Walker.’ It was so great that I could not help laughing at her wonderful smile again by chance. Though others may sympathise with her, she is a super tough girl who brings happiness around. This is the reason why I still admire and wonder if she is alright.

    Patrick is a unforgettable person in my life. I have known him since I was a ten-year-old. He is a broad and profound person in my mind. When I used a simple sentence in French, he knew what I talked about and answered me immediately. I speaking Japanese, he understood it a little. As soon as my computer got an unknown virus, he taught me how to fix the computer. And, speaking of economy or politics, he often analyze the situation to me. Also, he is a person who very considerate. As long as my mood become worse, he always notices it at once and worries about me. Moreover, I like to consult him when I am in the trouble such as relationship in friends, families. I still remember that I quarrelled with my best friend because of her friend’s behavior five years ago. I wanted to make up our relationship but I didn’t know how to say. At that time, he talked me that I could write a apologetic letter. finally, my friend and I are be friends again. In addition, I think he is not only a gentle but also a selfless person, he usually thinks of his friends and whatever his friends require him to do anything. For example, he is busy in his own work very much. He goes back home about 12 p.m. everyday but he still accept the job which is asked to edit or cut music for his friend’s stage play. Therefore, he put himself for the last one. Owing to his characteristic and personality, I respect him and do not forget him forever.

    My history teacher who named 何佩馨 is a special person to me. She is my high school teacher. She doesn’t like other old-maidish teacher just notice students’ grade but also tell us some interesting thing when she was young. When she was teaching, she always uses interesting ways to let us remember. She is a great history teacher, she known a lot of unofficial history and tries to use easy ways let us understand the important things and the order in every century. On the other hand, her personality is very cool. She think right is right, wrong is wrong. When I confuse about study, she help me solve the problem. I think she is a great and cool person.

    Mike, my senior high school calssmate, is a special person for me. He has made my life strongly change. Because I am extremely shy, I do not take positive actions to interact with classmates. At this time, he noticed me and talked to me. “What’s your name?” he said. I was so nervous that I did not know how to respond. And he said you are lovely. “Why?” I replied. “You are the most lovely boy in our class.” he
    said. I was surprised that a boy consider me cute. In three years of high school, he took care of me in many aspects such as diet,studies,spirit,relationship. For example, because of him, I have known a great deal of friends. In spirit, he always comforts me and makes me delighted. He often taps me on the head and say “lovely”. Perhaps, some others considered us strange because of two boys. But Mike told me “Don’t worry about that!” Due to his words, I felt comforted. Because I deeply depend on him, when we attended college, I could not adapt to new circumstances. As a result, he must often come to Taipei to check me from Tainan because he studies in Cheng Kung University. He plays an important role in my life.

    Lily, one of my classmates in high school, is one of unforgettable persons in my life. She has a great number of good qualities. One of these is her optimism. I still remember every time she always prepared for math exams well but got bad grades instead. However, she never gave up, tried her best to take a lot of exercises, and believed one day she could get good grades. Another of her good qualities is her kindness. After we became classmates, she always invited me to eat lunch together and shared something interesting in her junior high memory with me. From then on, we became best friends. Other one is her love for helping people. It was impressed with me that whenever she finished her sweeping work, she always helped classmates who did not complete their works yet. Although now she is in Kaohsiung, we still keep in touch with each other. Her excellent qualities make her become one of my unforgettable persons.

    Jenny, my best friend in junior high school. She is also an unforgettable person in my life, because she changed my life a lot. For example, she accompanies me passing the love-crossed time and encourages me to put this passion behind my back. Besides, she has some great qualities. First, she is an introversive person. She likes making friends and also being a pistachio during friends. I remember the first time I see her in my first grade of junior high. At that time, she actively speaks to me. Asking my name and where I live and so on. Second, she is an intelligent person. It means that she always gets great grades in every academic subject. And she also several talents in music. She can play piano, blow saxophone and flute. Third, she has a compassionate mind. She cares about everyone that she knows. Such as if I got bad cold yesterday, and don’t go to school. She will call me and asks what I feel know. By the way, Jenny also has a pity on poor or bitter experience unfortunate people. Although she is in Hsinchu now, and we can’t see each other frequently. But we still often contact with phone call or msn. Her extraordinary qualities make her become an unforgettable person in my life.

    My collegiate classmatse ,Jay is an interesting and important persom to me. When I first been to college,I didn’t know any people,that day was thursday,there is a PE class we sit together and he strated to talk to me.That’s how we meet each other.At first I saw him,I thought he was a bad boy,because his eyes and his face.The little eyes and the big face,if you did not know him you might think he is a person not easy to get together.After few days later,you’ll find he is an really really interesting person,for example he’ll speak some cold jokes,sometimes the joke is very funny but sometimes it’s really boring and you’ll really want to hit him,but sometimes he is really serious and will make some suggestion really useful and effective.He is a really nice person.

    Alice, my classmate in senior high school, is a special person in my life. She is strange girl. Sometimes her thoughts are illogical. For example, she did not want to read Mathematics, because that she didn’t like the cover of Mathematic textbook. And she doesn’t like Doraemon because Doraemon doesn’t have fingers. She is proud of herself. For instance, she likes singing, and every time after she sings, she would said that “What a beautiful voice!” And when she was combing her hair, she would said that “What a straight hair!” She is also an optimistic person. She can make friends with other easily, and she always smiles to everyone. Whenever I am upset, I will turn into joy after I chat with her. She is my best friend and I am so glad to know her.

    Bonnie, my best friend, is a special person in my life. I have known her over twelve years since we were in elementary school. She is a caring girl, especially for dogs. When she sees stray dogs on the road, she will feel them are grotty and pat their heads slightly and takes food for them from her schoolbag. I admire to her such a kind behavior. She likes to read books. Actually, I don’t like reading books in my childhood, but I was effected by her who likes to borrow books from the library every week, so I started to touch books. Besides, she loves to draw pictures, and so do I. We often got together to draw pictures and share our works in the afternoon on holiday, we always had a good time, because we have the same hobby. Sometimes, I would think that if my life without her, it would be very boring.

    Jimmy is my junior high school classmate who really makes me so impressive. We used to let justice prevail because we were the class leader and deputy class leader. We should protect our classmates from bad students’ bully. The task was not only hard but tired, but I was glad that I can work with Jimmy. We would support each other whenever we had problems. On weekends we would go out together and play basketball. After graduating for so many years, I would go to our old school to see our teachers with him if we had free time. Jimmy is a kind and conscientious person that I always have good time with him. Nowadays the whole world change so fast and so much, but I am sure that our friendship is never change. Jimmy is really a special person for me.

    Avril is my senior high school classmates, and she is a special person in my life. She is just one hundred fifty tall and she has small eyes, small nose, small mouth and small hands, so her friends usually called her “short person” or “small hands.” Her small hands take a drink 500c.c. seems like 1000c.c. She is a girl like to play but her also does well on lessons because she seperates them clearly and keeps balance. Although she seems fragile because she looks petit, she is a good listener in my class. She has ever learned 卡內基, so she can control her motion very well and many of my classmates like to tell unhappy things to her because she will give objective suggestions to them. Now she is studying in arts department at National Taiwan Normal University. She also use her free time to learn beating a drum and her level can be recorded a CD. In addition, her sense of humor helps her to get many friends. She is so cute and I like her very much.

    Pan, is one of my best classmates in the senior high school. Although we are in the different university now, I still keep in touch with her. We always have the constant subjects. I feel highly joyful as I get together with her. For example, she is a good listener. Whenever I complain about some things, she will listen attentively to the word. And, while I feel depressed or meet some problems, she will comfort me every time and help me think what I can do as much as she can. In addition, she makes people happy easily. She sometimes lets other people feel silly, but it’s not bad for her. She often makes people burst out laughing. She is so nice that I will keep her in my mind forever.

    Maggie is my roommate now and also an unforgettable person in my life. When I first time went into my new bedroom in the dormitory, I saw her. She is a sophomore in Department of Communications Design. She is very intelligent. For example, if my roommates and I face some problems in our studying, she might give us good ideas to solve those problems. She knows a lot which includes living, math, science, English and so on. She is also a creative person. She majors in Communications Design, and she has a lot of ideas. For example, she has to make animations by using the computer and she has to create some characters by her own. Characters in her animations are very interesting. Even though she is busy in doing her homework, she is also a good listener. When I feel upset, she always listens to me. It’s a comfort to be with her. I am very happy to be the roommate with her. I hope we can be roommates next year.

    Jenny is one of my special people. She is my classmate in high school. At the first glance, she was looked indifferent. Nevertheless, we became good friends after we sat together. The best advantage of her is goodhearted. She is always willing to help others. No matter who need to be given a hand, I think she will never say no. On the other hand, she treats her friends very well. Whenever I am upset, she consoles me with encouraging words. She is, moreover, an interesting person. She is so different from her appearance. We were often amused by her. Even we are in different colleges now, we have been keeping in touch forever.

    My special friend, Daphne, is good at art and always gets good grades in art competition. For example, the pattern of class T-shirt was designed by her. She also attended the Taiwan art competition. She had to compete with competitors from all around Taiwan. And now, she is a student of the art department in 東海university. All my friends of senior high school love to collect her special works if she drew some pictures from casual life. She is also humorous and love talking. Daphne is the most famous person in our grade because of her art skill and characteristic of humor. She can make friends easily when they just met. If someone is in bad mood, she can find ways to let him or her get happier or feel better. She is really a great talker in my life. I deeply believe she will be a great artist some day. I really love her!!!!!!!

    Anita, is one of my college friends, she reminds me some best qualities of the country all the times. A hard-working, thrifty person, the most, with human touch. We will call each other to share the highlights of our daily life, even sadness. We are willing to sacrifice our precious hours if one of us needs a shoulder to cry on (by skipping classes or sessions) Now, I would like to share her qualities with you. For instance, she is a very ‘economical’ girl. The first year of college, every freshman was told to live in school dorm. She brought a lot of food from her homeland in 雲林. The classmates (including me) BORROWed the milk powder and shred pork secretly. I didn’t consider it was wrong. But after few years, I understood what we did to her after she told me her mother once lectured her for supporting education would be her dowry. And the human touch I found within her, dues to I stayed with her in summer holiday once……Well, she is certainly a good friend that I can’t miss.

    Yi Ruei, my favorite friend of C2 fans club. He is one of the most popular person in the club I ever met. Many of his good qualities that make everybody love to hang out with him.
    One of his good qualities is his good sense of humor. He has a power to turn anything into funny way. For example, once we went cycling and he were teased by us about his voice like a girl. As then we were taking a photo for him. He made a very sissified pose which was more jesting than we do. He can always make a fun time. His another good quality is his positive thinking. He is always look on the bight sight and never give up to deal with any problem. On one occasion, he lost his wallet with five thousand dollars. But he didn’t grumble at all, he say, “At least I didn’t lose my hair” to make fun of himself instead. One another is his bounty. He never was a kind of stingy person who haggles over every penny. For instance, we had a meal together very often. Most of time any of us without small bill when paying the check, he was the one pay all checks first. We gave him changed money after leaving for sure and never took advantage on him of course. Unless a treat was said from the beginning. He also lend friends money with no complains and looking down on them if he knew you were in a real trouble. My favorite friend of C2 fans club Yi Ruei whose humor,his positive thinking and his bounty make everybody love to hang out with him and became the most popular person I ever met.
