My Hometown

You’re going to write a description of your hometown.  Here are some suggestions:

What is the name of your hometown? Where is it located? What size is it? How many people live there? What is the weather like? What is the most impressive thing about your hometown? Also ask yourself about the things such as history, geography, architecture, service, entertainment, or famous people who have lived there.

Driving south from Taipei on Zhongshang Highway for 305 kilometers to the exit of Madou/Jiayi and taking the left off the interchange, you’ll see two long rows of signs for pomelo-related businesses, and then moving on forward there is a big sign for a shop selling Chinese bowl cakes, Wounguei Lan(碗粿蘭) at the traffic circle. Where you arrive is my little hometown, Madou Township, a 300-year-old town.

Located at the center of Tainan County, Madou has an area of 54 square kilometers and a population of 47, 000. To its south is Zenwen River, one of the largest rivers in southern Taiwan, which provides drinking and irrigation. The first settlers were the Pingpu (plains) Aborigines, who arrived here as early as 1200 years ago.

“Madou” means “eyes” in the language of the Siraya plains Aborigines. In the Gospel Luke 11:34, it says, ” Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light.” As we all know, eyes are the window to the soul. Thus, Matou has gradually become one of major cultural centers in the county.  The county government has made a plan to turn this small town into a cultural village to  hold both exhibits of cultural and historical documents, and of local arts and crafts.

Madou is so well known for its wendan pomelos that it attracts plenty of visitors to come and buy, and many of the wendan pomelos are shipped out around the island during the harvest season. The wendan pomelos are rounded but pointed toward the top.  The wendan pomelos are indeed the best gift choices during the Mid-Autumn Festival holidays

During his term, President Chen and his wife would return to Madou to hand out red envelops fro the Chinese Lunar New Year. For the past eight years the townspeople were excited to see the President in person as well as receive luck money at the start of a new year though they had to wait in line as far as two kilometers.

    Taichung is my hometown. It is the third big city in Taiwan, after Taipei and Kaohsiung. There are 1040725 people live in Taichung. In Taichung, there is always a sunny day. It seldom rains there. I really like the whether in Taichung. Because it’s plentiful culture, it also been called culture city. The Art Museum and the National Museum of Nature Science are places which are worth visiting. The most famous park in Taichung is Taichung Park. It’s feature that there is a lake with a pavilion in the middle. When it comes to Lantern Festival, there are always displayed many festive lanterns. Besides, night markets are also famous in Taichung, such as Feng Chia night market and Tung Hai night market. Things in there were all sold cheaper. And foods in there are all delicious. By the way, the most renowned food in Taichung is sun cake. If you come to Taichung, you have to try it.

    Yunlin is my hometown.It is in the middle Taiwan.There are 734584 people live in Yunlin.The weather in Yunlin is always sunny day even in winter. Althought it is not a big city and not so convenient as Taipei but Yunlin has many place you can visit.The most fammous two place is ancient pit and beigang Matsu.In ancient pit,there have the most famous coffee and amusement park.You may spend two days there.First day to the amusement park to play the G5,it is really exciting and fun you must play it.In the night you can stay in prince hotel,it’s very comfortable.The second day,you can go to drink the coffee,it’s really tasteful.After that you can go to beigang to worship the Matsu and bought some famous food,like peanut, broad bean and sesame oil.Another place you can visit is the beach and there is where I lived.You can eat the fresh seafood there and the price is not very expensive.If you come, you must try the roast eel,it’s very delicious.Yunlin is not very popular but you can enjoy the country life that you never have in Taipei.

    My hometown Isumi city is located in the south east coast of Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo. The city is incredibly small, such as the number of people live there is only about 43,000. According to some historical books, the city was holding many criminals from the other regions in the past, which is not glorious to hear about today. However, there is no more that sort of custom which I have just mentioned above; so please do not get frightened about my lovely hometown. I like the small city, because of its mild weather and the beautiful scenery rich in nature. Though the city is very small, it is widely known as a perfect surfing resort. As a proof, the world surfing competition is also held on that beach annually. It is exciting to watch those famous sufers’ performances. The beach there is opened all year round for the people come over to enjoy the attractive waves. I am going to try surfing there with my friends this summer. It makes me so excited and I cannot wait for the summer holiday!

    My hometown is Tongsiao.It is located in Miaoli, belonged north Taiwan. There are many junior high schools, including mine. It is just a small town but there are a lot of places which are popular with many people from other countries. For example, 飛牛牧場 is so beautiful that tourists always come with buses on holidays. Tongsiao lido is also a interesting spot, there are a oceanarium, BBQ section, and good-looking beach. Every Friday, people like to go night market, but it is so small. Tongsiao is not very big, but delicate with full completion.

    My hometown is Taoyuan. It’s in the north Taiwan. There are about 1938591 people who live in Taoyuan. The population figures are only lower than Taipei. The density of population of Hakka public is very high, so it’s famous for Hakka snack. There are numerous foods to eat and places to play. Such as Dasi dried tofu, Longtan Peanut brittle and the honey peach of Mt. La La. The renowned tourist resort is Shihmen Reservoir and you can eat local jumpingfish. Puhsin farm and Yongan harbor are places that you can visit. Tsheeblmn farm is a nice place to appreciate and Window On China is a enjoyable place to play. These places will let you leave wonderful memories. If you have never been to here, you must to do.

    My hometown Taoyuan is behind Taipei. I often take the bus about 25 minutes from Taipei to Taoyuan city. Owing to its location, it is usually said that Taoyuan is the rear garden of Taipei. With industry and commerce of development, Taoyuan’s population is about 1900000; therefore, more people who live in Taipei or Xinzhu like to live here because its prices is much cheaper than them. Because it had ever planted full of peach, it is called Taoyuan. In Taoyuan, the weather is like most of northern Taiwan’s. The rainy days take the most part of its weather. However, I consider it is colder than Taipei due to its tableland landforms. There is a international airport in Taoyuan, so it is the first place where foreigners arrive. And also, there are a lot historic spot here. For example, a Confucian temple and a martyrs’ shrine and so on. If you want to travrl in Taoyuan, you cannot miss them and the old streets in Daxi!

    My hometown is Tao-Yuan which it located in the north Taiwan. The population here is 1,938,591. Tao-Yuan is also the third largest country in Taiwan. The weather in Tao-Yuan likes other countries of north Taiwan, it’s cold in winter and hot in summer. It rains a lot in May and June, so when these two months comes, I always feel upset. I live in Pingzhen City which is located in the south Tao-Yuan. It’s the third largest city in Tao-Yuan country. It’s also near Jhongli City, so it’s quite convenient. I think that Pingzhen City is between the countryside and city, so I can live with different life-styles. One of the places I went so many times in Tao-Yuan is Puxin pasture. I have been to there since I was in the kindergarten. The other one is Shimen mount. When I was in the elementary school, I usually went mountain climbing there every weekend. Although Tao-Yuan is not the largest and the most modern country in Taiwan, it’s the most beautiful country in my mind. Tao-Yuan is the country that you both can enjoy the advance technology and simple village. I think people will like it when they come to the beautiful Tao-Yuan country.

    Yi-Lan is my home town. It is a plain and located at east-north Taiwan. It has an area of 2143.6457 square kilometers and a population of 462,286. It often rains a lot in the four seasons because the special landform which is surrounded by mountains on three sides and with only one side face the sea is easily to cause rain. And the county flower of Yi-Lan is orchid. People would spend two hours from Yi-Lan to Taipei by train. However, people can have another choice since the Hsuehshan Tunnel starts using in these few years, it only takes one hour to arrive Taipei by passenger transport. It’s very convenient and much more cheaper. Furthermore, the air is very fresh and the water is very clean here. If you pass through the village, you could see a lot of bright green paddies and beautiful farmhouses. By the way,The most houses here are not very high because of the policy. On the other hand, Yi-Lan has a lot of specialty, for instance,San-Xing green onion is so good that sale to all over Taiwan. Preserved food and Niu-She-Bing are famous as well. In conclusion,Yi-Lan is a good place to visit, people would like the beautiful scene ,delicious food and kind people here.

    My hometown is Cingshui. It’s ancient name is “Niu ma tou.”. It located in is an urban township in western Taichung County and if across a mountain, you can see the ocean. In my hometown, Gao-Mei marsh is its most famous nature sight. It is a good place to research birds, plants, and the ecology of creatures in the marsh. And, the most famous food in Cingshui is meat sauce rice cake in a bamboo section which is really delicious. In Cingshui , if you want to see the night view, you can go to Cingshui rest area. It is very beautiful. But be careful mosquito. There are many mosquito over there. By the way, if you like temple, you must visit Cingshui’s the most famous temple which named 紫雲巖. The temple is very efficacious and its decoration is imposing. Cingshui is a beautiful place to me. Sometimes, you can see cows on the road which near by my grandmother’s house.

    Sihu is my hometown. This town is a typical farmland located in central Changhua County. It’s famous for its fruit & vegetables wholesale market and meat market. Changhua County is situated in the mid-western part of Taiwan Island. The Dadu Stream in its north bestrides the boundary between Changhua and Taichung Counties. The southern border of Changhua County is marked by the Jhuoshuei Stream by which Yunlin County is set apart from in the south. Sihu covers an area of 320,592 square kilometers and a population of 56,458. The most famous food in Sihu is mutton pot. It made by fresh mutton and Chinese herbal medicine. It’s the best food when cold winter comes. The place where children love most is the military aircraft park. It placed the discards of aircraft. The place where you come here can’t miss is Sihu sugar refinery. It sells ice everyday whenever in winter. The famous ice is moon-sun ice. It made by ice cream and a yolk. It looks like moon and sun. After finishing ice cream, you can take the train for sightseeing. It’s very suitable for families and couples.

    My hometown is Shin Feng. It locates in Hsinchu County. The population in here is 49703. And it has an area of 46.3469 square kilometers. The weather in Shin Feng is always has strong wind. So for local people, if they want buy a motorcycle, they may buy a motorcycle more than 50CC motorcycle. Because it may let you blow by the strong wind. In here, it has the only Mangrove Ecosystem protection environment in north of Taiwan. For Hsin Feng’s residents, it is the most valuable treasure for us. And in the summer, the Shin Feng Township Office will hold the annually watermelon festival, fruit farmers bring their best delicious and sweet watermelons to make a competition. And if someone wins the competition, the fruit farmer will feels his efforts have the price. In Shin Feng, it also has an important place that is the Hsinchu expand industry area. It brings Shin Feng’s economy to take off. To sum up, I am glad to be live in here, although it is a small county. But Shin Feng has the nice weather, national treasure’s Mangrove Ecosystem, and ardor residents.

    My hometown is Chunghua. Changhua is situated in the mid-western part of Taiwan Island. There are 1314453 people in Chunghua. The square measure is not much. The weather is fine in the four seasons. The most impressed thing for me is Beidou meatball. It’s known to be tiny and crystal clear. It really tastes good. Whenever I go back home now, I would have the meatball. There are still other delicious snacks. Meat ball, “Cat Mouse Noodles,” and braised pork rice are nicknamed as the “three treasures” of Changhua. Changhua has beautiful scenery; its well-known scenic locations are Bagua Mountains, Wang-gong fishing port, Tianwei Highway Garden, and so on. Two of places I have been are Bagua Mountains and Tianwei Highway Garden. The scenic of Bagua Mountain Scenic Area is beautiful both in the day and at night. The Great Buddha Sculpture in Bagua Mountain is the most famous landmark in Changhua. I often go there with my classmates. We have a good time there. Tianwei Highway Garden produces a variety of flowers. You can rent bicycles and driving along the tour route. You will enjoy the scenery in the garden. There are also many street vendors. When you are hungry, you could buy some snacks to sate with your stomach. Chunghua is really a good choice to travel.

    Tainan city is my hometown located in the southwest of Taiwan. It is 175.645 square kilometers and there are 757913 people. People residing in Tainan always enjoy sunshine. However, it is often raining in summer rather then in winter. When it comes to Tainan, people always think of delicious foods such as Coffin, Salty rice pudding, Eel noodles, and An ping Tofu pudding and so on. Besides, there are lots of renowned high spots like An ping Fort, Confucian temple, Erkunshen Fortress, Chih-Kan Lou and so on. I think they are the most impressive thing in my hometown. Tainan is a wonderful place where there are not only a great number of excellent foods but the most famous persons like Chien-Ming Wang and Ang Lee. They do wonders for Taiwan, don’t they? Therefore, I am always proud of being a Tainanese and miss everything wonderful in Tainan when I come back to Taipei. It is really a great place where it is worth going to travel.

    My hometown is Nei-men, a small town in Kaohsiung County. There are 16,530 people there. The main industry is agriculture. In front of my home, there have many big farmlands. We also can see buffalo on the street. It’s a primitive place. During March and April, we hold a big traditional celebration, 高雄內門宋江陣嘉年華會. It’s been a renowned activity. 宋江陣is a traditional performance. There are many famous temples which I always visit when I go back. The special products are longan, pineapple, guava, peanut brittle. They can be found along the street. By the way, Shih Chien University Kaohsiung Campus is there.

    Ilan is my hometown located in the northeast of Taiwan. The population in Ilan is 462,286. In Ilan it often rians in winter so it often drive me crazy. There are no many automobiles so we usually ride a bicycle to school. If you come to Ilan, you have to go some well-known places. For example, Jiaosi, Su-ao, Luo dong . Jiaosi, where the scenery is extremely splendid, is celebrated for its hot spring and Su-ao is noted for its cold spring and fresh seafood. Luo dong is distinguished for night market, where there are many delicious food like 藥燉羊肉 and 包心粉圓. However, it’s impressive and meaningful for me to go to the National Ilan Senior High School, my mother school. There are many recollections regardless of sadness or happiness. Next time you come to Ilan, you may visit these places I refer to.

    I grow up in a beautiful place where people call it wai shuang xi. Located at the the north suburbs of Taipei city. wai shuang xi has an area of about 4 square kilometers and a population of almost 6,000 people. Surrounding by foothills and shuang xi river through out from mountains. Evey summer vacation, people from cities keep coming in streams to barbecue on the riverside or to dabble in the river. The climate here is cooler than near urban area and the air is more fresh. wai shuang xi is also well known for its most famous spot-National Palace Museum. The precious Chinese cultural legacy is right here. People from all of the world come here for just one look at our amazing treasures. There are many old condos and old houses along the main way, Jhihshan Road, the only way communicate to town. Some famous people lived here. I saw the Former Minister of Finance Wang, Chien-Hsuan jogs many times. There are also the Former president Lee Teng-hui and the well-known ｍusic artist-Yuan, Wei Jen lived in the same community. My hometown is a scenic place where is pleasant either for living and visiting.

    My Hometown:
    This time, I am going to write my new experience to be a host of foreign exchanged students.
    So it was next day after Vatentine,
    So My partner and I took my sccoter, all the way to Yang ming Nation Park. the reason I rode my sccoter was simply to enjoy a holiday as everyone in Taiwan usually does,
    YangMingShan-The back Yard Garden of Taipei city.There was a flower festival between feb/02 to mar /16.
    Appreicate our lives , everyone and everything around us. That he made me feel that way.
    on the way back his dorm, Jussi did experience the unique Taipei traffic jams. i didn’t know how does he feel at the moment,. Then few days later, Jussi told me that was his first time on the sccoter.

    I have been living in Wan-hua for twenty years for twenty years, it is indeed my hometown. It locates at east of Taipei; however, on account of the MRT system Wang-hua has the connections with other parts of Taipei. Wang-hua was a prosperous place because there were many dealers gathered here to do their business and there were much merchandise imported from other places. But with change and development, Wang-hua became a famous hotspot for tourists, such spots as Lungshan Temple and the snake street.
    I remember that when I was a child, I was often brought to join the festival in temple during the Chinese New Year, so I know what is good in Wang-Hua. However, I usually take my friends here to experience the fun I have had. By taking them to these places, I do have more and more wonderful memories, that is why I am appealed by this treasure.

    My hometown is Lo-Tong. It is the most popular town in I-Lian. Though it is a small town, it sitll has a lot of pleasures. thereis a sportpark. In the pork, green grace full of the ground, trees are luxuriant there. Upon the lack and river, there are many dukes and a lot of water birds. They live happily because the water of the lake and river is clean. You can walk around the park or ride a bike that you would feel the breeze upon your cheeks. In the evening, you can go to Lo-Tong niaht market. In the nightmarket , people fullof the ground. There are kinds of foods, and every thing is tasty and cheep, clothes and shoues, too. Though, Lo-Tong is a small town But I have a special feeling about my little hometown. To me, it is a irremovable place in my heart, and no where is better than it.
