A Mighty but Weak God

Greek gods or goddesses can be portrayed in many ways — one of the distinct characteristics being anthropomorphic.  They have fully functional human-like bodies, and they share many human emotions and passions — both good and bad. Zeus was, for the most part, sensible, shrewd, and fair.  He demonstrated both impartiality and good judgment in most conflicts among the gods. However, his insatiable lust created problems for both him and any wife (women) he chose. Like Zeus, we do have our own flaws or weaknesses. Identifying  and dealing with those flaws would become part of our life issues. Is it possible to eliminate our own weaknesses/flaws? How do you deal with them? Or what will you do when temptation comes?

  1. If there were no weaknesses or flaws in the world then there would be all perfect man, no evil, no hatred and no pain, people would live happily ever after but it is impossible for a man to be no weaknesses. Some people said that it is this that makes people perfect and beautiful, itsn’t it?

People do have some weakness so do I, the way I had tried very hard to deal with my big flaw was to push myself to do some long-hour handcrafts because I was very impatient before I was easily to lose my patience to all kinds of things, they could be reading, writing, assignment or tests; in order to conquer my impatient weakness, I forced myself to do some handcrafts such as origami, painting, calligraphy or calculation with an abacus once a week, and I think it works now for I had been doing that since I was a elementary school student.

  2. I consider it is difficult to eliminate our own weaknesses/flaws. Human’s natural characters are inherent. I think I am a little bt stubbern, sometimes I would not listen what people told to me. Nevertheless, if I calm down and ponder deeply, I would realize how to do and do it well.
When my temptation comes, I would think Jesus once said ” forgive a sinner until seventy-seven time ” It would make me feel better, besides, I would think not care for those people that are blindness. After all, there’s no beau ideal in the whole world.

  6. No one is perfect and we all have something that we need to improve and change. I think they had made the Greek Gods this way so they can have better explaintion about humans. I, myself is not perfect but I am changing not to be perfect but to be better. I am always being hard on people but I will always have excuse for my wrong doings. After I started to work I realized the way I judge people should be reverse and not be so hard on people, but on myself otherwise I will never grow. I used to be a shopaholic and I have to spend money everyday! I try really hard to get rid of this bad habbit. It took me almost three months to get rid of this bad habbit. When I see the things I like I would told myself that there are so many poeple around the world without food and clothes and I should be thanksfull with what I have now and there is no need to spent more money!
