The End Time Mentality

Christians are convinced that  we now live near the end times as the signs mentioned in the Bible are occurring day by day, such as wars, earthquakes and famines. But what is the right attitude toward end time events? Jesus replied plainly to his disciples in Mark 13, ” Don’t panic” (v. 7) and “Watch out” (v. 9). These things must happen before the day or hour comes, but no one knows the very time even the angels or Jesus himself (v.32). He himself warned us to keep alert and watch out in case when He returns he finds us sleeping (or lazy in his work).

On the other hand,  his followers should watch out because they would be accused and persecuted for his name’s sake before governers or kings of this world. But these would be great opportunities to share the gospel (v. 9).

As the world economy is going down, most people are worried about losing their jobs, money or property. As Christians, what we have to do is keep calm and take every opportunity to share Jesus with the world.
