Who is blinking on the pedestrian crossing sign?  Male or female? The Swedish government recently ordered its National Road Administration to design female crossing signs instead of male ones found all the time at most of the pedestrian crossings in Europe. The new sign will show a woman crossing the street, hoping to balance the gender issue.

An awakening of public consciousness of “something” seems to be on the rise, such as environment, gender, ideology, and globalization. We have been trying to balance what something has gone too far, pulling the pendulum back to the middle. The Bible tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is” (Romans 12:2).  Knowing God’s will always put us into perspective and it is the anchor of a normal Christian life.
