There was a time when God commanded his people not to make for themselves gods of silver or gold to be worshipped. Instead he ordered them to make an altar of earth on which sheep or cattle must be sacrificed or burned completely. If they built a stone altar for God, the altar shouldn’t be cut or carved by chisel or it wouldn’t proper for God’s use.
Why do Christians go to church on Sundays? Of course, they go worshipping God at church. But how should they worship Him? Is it the way God wants or just to satisfy people’s desires and needs? True worship is not to please us but God alone. Jesus said we should worship God the Father in spirit and truth.
