The mastery of a foreign language does not make you more acceptable or valuable in the sight of the Lord, but if God’s calling for you is to share the Gospel in a foreign land, you won’t panic because you know the language. In Matthew 20:28 Jesus commanded his followers to go to all peoples everywhere and to make them his disciples. If we know Japanese, we are better to serve Japanese people.
