Coasta Rica, once a strong  and supportive ally with the Taiwan’s government for nearly 60 years,  now has broken its diplomatic relations with Taiwn and established ties with China.  We’ll expect to see some fingerpointing going on for the next few days in our political arena.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs has offered his regination for taking responsibility for Coasta Rica’s switch.  Who is to blame?

This incident illustrates a vital spiritual principle. Who is your true friend? Who can still walk with you in times of affictions and hardships?  The psalmsiht said, “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, you right hand will hod me fast”(Psalm 139:9-10).  God is our ever-present help.  He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

God is the only One we can count on. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12).
