As I went downstairs to pick up my mail, I found the box stuffed with flyers, advertising circulars, coupons, and various kinds of bills but not regular mail inside. Like our regular mailbox, we do receive a great amount of unsolicited mail or junk mail in the electronic mailbox such as Yahoo Mail or Gmail. Oftentimes we throw out or delete junk mail even without looking at it. “It also increasingly cynical about everything else—ready to dismiss it, unthinkingly, as junk or fluff or spin, . . .,” said Kakutani as he doubts the trustfulness of advertisements.
