The Delphi Advice

One of Apollo’s important aspects is that he is the main god of prophecy. And the most important prophetic shrine was at Delphi in Greece.  People would travel to Delphi to ask the priestess (a woman) there, who was called the Pythia, questions about anything they wanted to know.  As the Pythia received a question, she would give an oracular answer which was given and inspired by Apollo.

How about you? I’m not saying that you would go to a temple to seek an oracle or divine message. But in your life journey, where have you sought guidance or counsel? With whom have you consulted regarding your study, career, or anything else?  Or who is your mentor? Why would you like to talk to him or her?

  1. My sister who is one of my mentors in my life every time when I face difficulties the first person who I ask directly is my sister, she is a very strong woman and heroin in my mind she knows what she wants and of course she steps gradually forward her goal successfully.

I am easily to get lost when I have to make some decisions; while I was preparing the transfer examination 3 years ago, I was really like a missing ship that draft in the vast ocean not knowing where to ship ahead or to be ashore. My sister at that time was really a beacon light in my endless sailing, she taught me not to be blind by what’s ahead but to stick to what I really care about. This seemed to be nothing for other people but it meant a lot to me for my sister ia a ideal heroin in my mind.

  2. it’s hard to define that who is my mentor. I think each my friend, everyone whom i know is my mentor. I have different types of things which i don’t know how to do them well, i would ask different people to have different advice.
The different people have the different thoughts. Tha t’s why i’d like to ask one thing to everyone.

I have no temples or shrine to seek an oracle or divine message. I usually sought guidance or counsel to my ancestor. I consulted my study, career, or anything else with my grandfather and grandmother. I consider they are my mentor. I like to talk with them because they love me a lot when they were alive. I think they would hear what I say, and protect or bless me. Besides, if I talk to them, I would feel much better.

  4. When I face trouble or problem, my friend is my mentors. I will talk about my life, my thought with her. We have known each other for several years. We know each other very well. We have similar personality, attitude toward many things. My friend is considerate; I like to share my feeling with her. When she loses her direction, I am also her counsel.

  5. I just remember when I was young my mother took me to a place where they look at the time you were born and then they will tell you about your life. I didn’t believe it i just think they were weird.
I think my mentors are God and my parents because they are older then me and they know me very well so when ever I have problem I would go to them.
