“Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know his will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.’” (Luke 22:14)
As the Lord appeared to Paul and caused him to be blind on the way to Damascus, he told Paul to enter Damascus where he would be told what to do. When Paul arrived in Damascus, he met a man named Ananias, who was a godly man and dedicated to the law. The moment Ananias prayed for Paul, Paul could see again. Then Ananias said to Paul that God had chosen him to know his will, to see him and to hear his voice. Paul then was baptized and cleansed of his sin by the name of the Lord Jesus and became a witness for him.
Many Christians are amazed at what Paul encountered and might be eager to have a special encountering with God like Paul. In fact God works in every one of us in a various way, because he knows how to turn our hearts to his. Encountering Jesus is only the entrance to the wonderful kingdom of God, which helps every Christian taste the grace of the Lord. Eventually the Children of God need to know his will, to see him face to face, and listen for the voice of God.
For every born-again Christian, God has a great plan for him? A great plan for every Christian is to know him personally—he is our Savior, to love him affectionately—he is our only love, and to witness for boldly—to win the souls in Christ. How can a person who becomes a Christian live in a secular way, the way he thinks, talks and behaves like a non-believer? Meanwhile, a true believer should see God in person and listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Lord our God is a living God unlike an idol who cannot see, talk, and listen. But our God loves to show his love and mercy. As we draw close to him, he will draw near to us, appearing to us and speaking to us.
