A Clear Vision

One day a leader from the Jewish synagogue came begging Jesus to heal his daughter, for she was dying in bed. On the way to the leader’s house, someonemet them halfway saying to the leader, “Your daughter is dead. There is no use bothering the teacher.” Hearing this, Jesus comforted the leader, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and your daughter will be healed.” After Jesus arrived in the house and saw the crowd weeping and crying over the girl, he told them to stop mourning because she was asleep, not dead. The people laughed at Jesus.

Jesus saw things differently from what ordinary people did. He would think to himself, “you guys don’t know exactly what is happening to this girl, but the Father and I are aware of this. Don’t discourage the girl’s family.”  That is why he could speak to the temple leader confidently to put his trust in him.

When something unexpected or terrible happens to us, seek God first because he sees the complete picture of it and knows the whole story and he will guide you in the course of anxiety and insecurity. If we consult men first in time of trouble, we could be discourage and made even frustrated and miss the opportunity of experiencing the power of God.
