To survive the current economic depression, college or university students are often advised as early as possibly to develop their second technical or professional skills by means of which they may gain the upper hand in this keenly competitive market. Even many parents start worrying that their children may lose competitiveness when they grow up, so they begin to send their kids to myriad after-school programs where the children receive the training of different skills.

Apparently, most people think receiving the early or  best training and education helps themselves move ahead of others.  But as we read the book of Number chapter 27 where God was going to assign a person to succeed Moses, what kind of person would God look for to lead his people? In verse 18 it says, “Take Joshua son of Nun, who has the Spirit in him, and lay your (Moses’} hands on him.” How God exalted Joshua  is not because of his leadership skills or how smart he was, but because of the Spirit in him.

So do you want to be ahead of others or really stand out among the people? Ask God to fill you up with His Spirit first.
