Our Business Is His

A Taiwanese well-known Christian actor and volunteer in social work recently took an interview with a local media. At the end of the interview, he spoke about his faith saying, “I don’t know when my life comes to an end. My boss above determines the number of my life and I can’t reject it. That’s the way of life. So I entrust my life to God, my illness to doctors, and my livelihood to myself.

Most people in Taiwan whether they are Christians or non-Christians all speak well of this Christian brother. I personally also respect his commitment to social work and dedication to the Lord. His work definitely has won many souls in Christ. However, regarding his life philosophy,”Committing his life to God, his illness to doctors, and livelihood to himself,”  it deserves a little consideration. We have only one life that is from God and redeemed by the blood of Christ. We are in God and God also lives in us. What is happening to us is also God’s business. We should come to Him and seek His will first. We need doctors to heal our sicknesses, but come to the Lord before the doctors. Moreover, entrusting our livelihood to God instead of ourselves is a way of honoring God.

God is our Lord and Master. There is nothing none of His business.
