The Knowledge Of Salvation

“I won’t forgive them if they don’t confess stealing my cellphone,” said a student of mine whose cellphone was fell out of the bathroom and lost the moment she came out of the room. Around five minutes later she found a group of her classmates sat beside the classroom playing with her cellphone in the hallway. As she approached them and took back her cellphone, the SIM card was missing. She suspected that they discarded the card in order to keep the cellphone. But, none of them admitted stealing the card.

She was very upset, exclaiming, “How didn’t they confess their sin? I would never, ever forgive them.” As I read in Luke 1:67-80, Zechariah praised God for his mercy saying, “. . . to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, . . . (v. 77-78). God has granted his salvation through his Son Jesus Christ who Died on the cross for our sins. We all have been given the “knowledge of salvation”. We can claim the salvation of God if we confess our sin before God.

Today we have a chance to seek God’s forgiveness and receive His salvation if we confess we are sinners.
