My aunt died of cancer in her late 40s. She was my first relative who died as I recall in my childhood. My aunt treated my family and all her brothers and sister well since she was married into a rich family. She would visited her mother, my grandmother, several times a year and brought many good stuff I had never seen before. She lived in a big city, while my family lived on a farming land in the country. Unfortunately, the following year after my aunt died my uncle died because of losing her beloved wife.
When someone loses a spouse, they become lost. According to some studies, husbands in particular will die shortly after their middle-age wives pass away. There are certainly many reasons involved in this middle-age crisis. In Genesis 2:18 God said to himself, “It is not good for the man (Adam) to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” God had made everything in the universe before he created Adam the first man. But for Adam there was no suitable partner for him. God then made a woman out of Adam’s bones and they were therefore united together.
Jesus promised his disciples that the Father would send a helper, the Holy Spirit, to them after he ascended to the Father. The Holy Spirit would teach them all things and remind them of everything Jesus had said to them (John 14:25). The Holy Spirit, also named the Spirit of Truth, is sent to us to testify about Jesus (15:26) and to be with us from the beginning to the end.
Are you alone? Do you need a helper? The Spirit of God has been given us as long as we ask Him to stay with us.
