Some scientists from Mexico conducted a study of fossilized reefs, the report about to be published in the latest issue of Nature.  They warned that a “catastrophic rise in sea levels from 4 meters to 6 meters is possible and “the sea levels could rise rapidly by the end of the century if global warming triggers a collapse of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. By that time, many countries and cities will be facing flood risks and inundation. The scientists believe that to partially avoid such “catastrophic flooding” is to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions by 70 percent this century.

Will a disastrous flood occur as the scientists predict if human beings don’t do something to prevent? Could man suffer the second deluge? What does God say about the flood and all living creatures? In Genesis 9:8-17 as God placed his rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between him and the Earth, he has promised that he will never destroy every living creature on Earth, for when he sees the rainbow he will remember this eternal covenant.

We could be destroyed by God, not by the flood but sin which deceives us and makes us turn away from him.
