To Enslave or Be Enslaved?

The University of Maryland’s student union was planning to show a triple-X adult movie at the end of the school semester. The theater’s program director responded to the media saying, “I thought it would be something fun to program toward the end of the semester, to give a little stress break for students.” She even invited people (someone from Planned Parenthood) to talk about safe sex be fore the movie screening.

Is she using adult movies to teach about sex education? Are students going to a sex education class or watch a porn movie? Are adult movies able to set students free from the school pressure? Or instead do the movies enslave them in lust and porn indulgence? Tow male evangelical Christians decided to share the Gospel in an area where prostitution was notoriously rampant. In the first couple of months their work was pretty effective and some of the prostitutes came to Christ and received Jesus as their Savior. But half a year later, both male Christians fell into sin of promiscuity. They became slaves of  prostitution.

As Jesus prayed in Gethsemane before he was handed over to the Roman government, he told his disciples to “watch and pray so that they will not fall into temptation.” The key to overcoming temptation is to keep alert and flee from it and ask God to strength us in spirit and flesh.
