Spiritual Self-Cleaning

I usually mop every room of the house once a week. If guests visit, I probably do it the day before and try to make everything tidy and neat. To complete the process of house chore cleaning, I have to remove, clean, and replace things in the home to create a fresh look and feeling. Oftentimes my family perhaps not visitors benefits from the house cleaning

Our body, the temple (or house) of the Holy Spirit needs cleaning as well. How will the body be cleaned up spiritually? Through the cleansing of sin by His blood we can be made right with God. Studying His Word every day allows us to align with His “good and pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2). Walking with the Spirit helps us enjoy peace and joy in His Spirit.

As Jesus made  his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, he entered the Temple, looking around carefully at everything (Mark 11:11). Jesus was examining things in Temple, so he would see to it that everything done in the Temple is in line with the will of God.

Are we ready for God’s inspection today? Let His word and the Holy Spirit sanctify us and then He will be delighted to dwell among us.
