A True Worshiper

One day as Jesus went through a town in Samaria, he was met by a woman who came out to fetch watch at the well. As the conversation between this Samaritan woman and Jesus followed, the issue of  the place to worship God became the woman’s concern. She said, “Our worship God  on this mountain, while you Jews claim the place where we worship must be in Jerusalem. But Jesus stunned the woman, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seek” (John 4:23).

We have been long misled about the place to worship — on a specific mountain or in a particular temple or area. Nowadays many religious people go on pilgrimages to seek their own gods. They are filled with joy and excitement while they are worshipping in their ideal god’s temple. But as they return home, the god hasn’t come with them; they’ve left the god  behind.

Jesus clearly told us that a true worshiper is to worship in spirit and truth. After Jesus went up to heaven, the Father sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with us. He is interceding for us day and night before God. While worshiping, we do int in the Spirit. On the other hand, The Word of God is true and pure. If we have His Word, we have truth in us.

Are you seeking God today? God loves those who study His Word and follow His Spirit.
