In the book of “The Power of a Praying Parent”, author Sormie Omartian states directly that “being a perfect parent doesn’t matter, but being a praying parent does.” Many how-to books provide parents with sources and information of nurturing and teaching their children. However, children like adults have their own desires and emotions which can simply be satisfied and soothed by thier Creator, the Lord God only. As we release the burden of parenting to God through prayer, He will work through the children’s hearts as well as grant wisdom to their parents. In Luke 18:16, Jesus said that let the children come to me. Jesus loves children and we as parents should bring them to Jesus.
And prayer is the most powerful way to change a child’s life. If parents don’t pray for their children, they leave their children to the ever-changing world system and culture in which the children will be drifted away aimlessly. They wouldn’t be sure what their purposes in life are. They are just following suit from one “idol” to another.
Start praying for your children and God will start working in them.
