This morning on the service message my pastor spoke on the topic of “Popular or Solitary?” At the beginning of the message he asked us, “Is it good to build a Christian country as more and more Christians pray for their own country to be reigned by Christ?

The issue of separation of state and church has been heatedly discussed for quite a while in America. For me I don’t see anything wrong to establish a Christlike nation on earth.  In Psalms 33:12 it says that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. God indeed take great delight in blessing the nation whose people walk with God humbly and obediently. So the problem is how a nation is ruled; is it ruled by the spirit of Christ or by of religion?

Looking at the times of Jesus, it is crystal clear that Jewish people were under control of religious system — the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the scribes. Oftentimes Jesus criticized them as hypocrites, who were blind leading the blind.

Next time as we pray for our country, let”s ask God’s spirit prevail over our land, not the spirit of religion.
