At a meeting yesterday my student would elect one person to be the representative of the Graduation Committee 2010, as they’ll graduate from college next year. While the class leader asked everybody in the meeting to nominate whoever is capable, skillful or has experience working with the student body, I encouraged them to choose a person who is full of enthusiasm, faith, and passion about his or her work.
In the Four Gospels, oftentimes if the sick came to Jesus for healing, he or she would beg Jesus, “If you will, I’ll be healed.” Jesus would reply to them, “Your faith has saved you.” With God all things are possible and by faith we can come to Him with supplications. He will work things out according to his good will and purpose.
The principle can be applicable to the tasks we’re undertaking or involved in. It doesn’t matter how hard the work is. What matters is whether you put your heart in it. Many churches are currently promoting the “SHAPE” concept, the acronym standing for spirit, heart, ability, personality and experience. Experience comes behind far, far away from the heart and the spirit. Do you have a right spirit as you take on a new project? Do you take advantage of this opportunity to work for others or seek your own interest? Are you forced to undertake this new project or is it you heart’s desire to work on this project?
Are you willing to accept every opportunity coming your way today?
