I don’t know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day;
I don’t borrow from its sunshine,
For it skies may turn to gray;
I don’t worry o’er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I’ll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Many times about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.
While I was on my devotion time this morning, I heard the sound of drizzling outside the window and then it started raining. Yesterday was full of sunshine and pretty warm; yet who knows this morning was raining and cooler? “I don’t borrow from its sunshine, for its skies my turn to gray,” said the song writer, who was so wise that he entrusted his life to God. Yesterday may be the worst day of your life, but take heart and walk upright toward tomorrow, a new day and new opportunity for you and me, particularly for those who know the Lord.
“The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever” (Psalms 10:10). As we walk with the Lord day by day, we know who is in control and who is holding my hand.
