How will we approach a person in urgent need of help? would we condescend to beg and seek help if we were in higher position or would we just give an order to have someone do us a favor.
We read the story in Luke 8:40-54 that Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from death. Jairus was a leader of the local Jewish synagogue. He came to Jesus and threw himself down at his feet, pleading with him to come to his house, for his daughter was dying. Jairus could have Jesus sent to him because he was the leader. Or he could have ordered Jesus to come to heal his daughter, but he fell at Jesus’ feet and begged him to come.
Meanwhile, a woman afflicted with hemorrhages pushed through the crowd and came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of Jesus’ role. Instantly, her bleeding stopped and got healed. Jesus felt power discharging from him, for someone deliberately touched him. Once the woman was found out, she threw herself down at Jesus’ feet trembling and admitted she did it.
Both Jairus the leader and the ordinary woman fell at Jesus’ feet begging for whey they were in desperate need. What about us? Are we falling at his feet, seeking him and talk to him?
