Back to the year 1999 when I came to Christ in the States, I was so thrilled that God would grant me whatever I asked for in faith. Thus, I kept praying to God to grant me this wish — to stay in America because I love this country. Each time I prayed for it, uneasiness and sadness ran through me and I had to give up my request. I knew later on God’s will for me is to “return to my family and tell them what God has done for me.”
In Luke 8:26-39, Jesus was met by a man who was demon-possessed. The man was homeless, naked, and lived in a cemetery for a long time. As soon as Jesus saw the man, he commanded the demons to come out of the man and entered the pigs feeding on the hillside nearby. Having been healed, the man was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully clothed and of perfectly sound mind. As Jesus was leaving, he begged Jesus to go with him, but Jesus sent him home, saying, “No, go back to your family, and tell them everything God has done for you (v 39)”. The man returned home proclaiming how marvelously God has done for him throughout the village.
I am the man, once homeless wandering aound the world. Now I return home with the good news of what Jesus has done in me.
