Bowing At The Cross

Neath the cross of my Savior I ponder:
Why should Jesus bear such agony?
Here the pure Lamb of God gave His own life,
That I might from my sins be set free.
Lord, for me, Thou hast all yours forsaken.
How can I shun Thy great love once more.
I believe, I receive Thee, Lord Jesus.
And to Thee yield my life and my all.

As Jesus was nailed to the cross at Calvary, the people there including the Jewish rulers, the Roman soldiers, and even one of the crimals beside him sneered and mocked at him and thought he was cursed by God. However, on our behalf he was cursed under the wrath of God. “Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted” (Isaiah 53:4). Jesus paid the penalty for our sins because we all like sheep have gone astray and turned to their own ways.

T he cross was once the symbol of curse and misfortune, but God has turned it into blessing which will pour down on those who are read to receive him as Savior. Are you facing some difficulty times in your life now? It seems that there is no way out for you. Take heart! God and bow at the cross, for the punishment Jesus took has brought up peace, the peace that should overcome all trial and tribulations from the world.
