Years ago as I graduated from teacher’s college waiting for the government to assign me a teaching job, my mom took me to seek out a fortune teller as to where I would be appointed to teach. The fortune teller who was blink predict where I would be sent to and the prophecy was almost entirely fulfilled. I was astonished by this blind fortune teller not because of his prediction but by his ability to see my future without using any techniques.
In Mark 6:21-43, a temple leader pleaded with Jesus to heal her daughter because she was severely ill. On the way to the leader’s house, the message brought to the leader that Jesus didn’t have to go because the girl is dead. Ignoring the news, Jesus said to the leader, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me.” When Jesus arrived at the house, he saw the commotion and the weeping and wailing. He spoke to the crowd inside the house that the girl wasn’t dead but only sleeping. You could imagine the crowd must have laughed at Jesus. Yes, they did. But Jesus healed the girl by telling her to get up and walk, She was healed instantly.
How did Jesus see the death of the little girl? Jesus the Son of God didn’t see things with his physical eyes but with his spiritual eyes. May God to help us close our eyes when things come against us; instead, seek God first and look at our difficult circumstances from His perspective.
