Paul In Taiwan

When is the Gate of Hell opened and spirits are set free to roam the Earth? According to Chinese folklore, the fist day of the seventh month on the lunar calender is the day when the hungry souls or spirits come out of Hell to satisfy their stomach or desires on the earth. So, many Taiwanese present food offerings at the table in front of their houses, office buildings, or even in shrines and temples. What they are doing is try to appease these hungry wandering ghosts or so-called hao xiongdi, good brothers.

While Paul was visiting Athens, he was deeply troubled by all the idols in the city of Athens. In his speech to Athenians, he mentioned that they were so religious in every respect that they even worshipped to an unknown god (Acts 17:16-23). Things happened to Paul in Athens as they are taking place in modern Taiwan, an island of science.

How would Paul feel if he were to vist Taiwan?
