To enjoy longevity hang out with younger generations. A study of fruit flies at the University of Iowa showed that older mutant flies housed with their younger, they improved their physical responses and better survived environmental stresses compared to fruit flies that remained among the mutant population. The study implies that both humans and animals benefit from interaction with younger members of the species in terms of healthy ageing.
It is generally true that we become like the person we associate with. The longer we hang out with young people, the more dynamic we’ll become; the way we act, talk or think will be different. But How about spending time with God? God said to Moses that he is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. The Lord God is a living God and doing new things. In Isaiah 40:30-31, we read, “Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Let’s make it our aim to wait for God (or hang out with Him). Then, ageing will become only a “noun”.
