Are You A “Global Warmer”?

A team of researchers at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine found that Obesity could contribute to global warming. In their study, obese people usually require 2,960 calories to sustain or maintain their daily energy and activities, 18 percent more with thinner people. These obese and overweight people consume more food and fuel to transport them, which also lead to food shortages and higher energy prices.

It’s good to know even our body plays an important role in the world’s ecosystem. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we read, “Do you not know that your body is temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.” As we contribute to the earth, God’s creation, by reducing the consumption of food or fuel, we actually bring glory to God. Wow, we are killing two birds with one stone!
