A powerful earthquake stuck the Sichuan province of China this morning, killing as many as 10,000 people and causing thousands of houses to collapse. And just a week ago, a deadly cyclone battering Myanmar also killed morn than 60,000 people and left hundreds of thousands of people homeless.

Natural disasters such as these have been taking placing every day, everywhere since the earth was cursed as Adam and Eve disobeyed God. As the Bible tells us in the Book of Romans Chapter 8 that the created world groans as human beings do. God’s creation wait eagerly for the day of glory which will be set free from bondage and share the glorious freedom of the children of God.

We know that as the earth suffers we suffer as well. We might as well avoid such curse if we do as the Lord commands us. It is written in Exodus 23:25-26 that if you worship me, the Lord your God, I will bless you with food and water and take away all your sicknesses… I will give you long life.
