Labor of Love

Happy Labor Day to “those workers who work under the Labor Law.”

I can’t think of anyone who can accomplish great tasks than the ancient greatest hero Heracles did.   Heracles didn’t undertake the tasks voluntarily, but he submitted to whatever he was demanded and ready to do anything that could could make him clean.  The tasks he was given to do are called “the Labor of Hercules.” There were twelve of them and each one was all but impossible. Finally, he completed these horrifying and formidable labors.

The Bible tells us that we are all servants of God, more specifically slaves of Jesus Christ as Paul called him in the epistles. But as we serve God, we do not work out of compulsion but of love.  It is Christ’s love that pushes us forward and makes His work to completion.
