Do you want to recharge your wireless phone? Actually you don’t need to put it back into the desk charger. Just turn on a radio and the power will be sent out through radio waves in the air. Last year, a company named Powercast sold an artificial Christmas tree decorated with wireless LED lights, getting their power from a radio transmitter hidden in the trunk. Since the transmitter sends radio frequency power in all direction, some gets lost in thin air, reducing efficiency. As a consequence, the greater the distance between the power source and the gadget, the more power will be lost in the transfer.
A Christian life can be compared to any gadget which needs recharging whenever the power is decreasing. The similarity between our spiritual life and a gadget is that we need a charge from the Spirit of God on a regular basis. But the power of the Spirit is never getting lost because of the distance from the power source. God is omnipresent. A person may feel God is far, far away from him or her; yet the Bible says, “You draw near to God and God will draw near to you” (James 4:8).
Are you trying to seek God today? God does not only dwell in a church building, but he is in your home, school, office and of course everywhere.
