One time when Jesus shared with his disciples what would happen to him — being rejected by the Jewish leaders, the chief priests and the teachers of religious law and being killed and raised again, they were disturbed and troubled. Peter, one of Jesus’ s disciples, even took Jesus aside and rebuked him. Yet, Jesus responded to Peter sternly saying, “Get away from me, Satan! Your thoughts do not come from God, but from human nature.” (Mark 8:34).
We assume that people suffer because of their sins or crimes they’ve committed. Indeed, as Christ died, he died for the sake of God’s will; then mankind can receive salvation through him. Next time if you see someone going through suffering, do not jump to a quick conclusion that he or she must have made big mistakes. Perhaps their suffering is to demonstrate God’s glory.
