After two more days Easter will come. Easter Sunday or Resurrection Day always falls on the Sunday immediately following the first full moon after the vernal or spring equinox. This is the day, the first day of the week, when our Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead as he foretold his resurrection to his followers. Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians that if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless (1 Corinthians 15:14).
However, for whom was Jesus raised three days later? And also for whom did Jesus die on the cross? The Friday that comes three days earlier before Easter Sunday is the day named Good Friday on which Christians commemorate the anniversary of Christ’s crucifixion and death. What is all about “Good”? It is because Jesus died on this day for us and removed all ours sins. We won’t die in condemnation; instead we all can enjoy a new and abundant life only if we trust in Him. This is the Good News that has been proclaimed over the past two thousand years and will continue to be.
“No is good except the Father,” (Mark 10:17-31) said Jesus as he answered a man who called him “good teacher”. But we can be made right before God the Father if we acknowledge Jesus as our savior who becomes our righteousness. I wish you all a happy Good Friday!
