Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist who made his fortune by inventing dynamites and other powerful explosives used as weapons. Years later, when his brother died, an local newspaper accidentally printed an obituary for Alfred instead. He was described in the obituary as a man who became rich by encouraging people to kill each other in unprecedented quantities. To his amazement, Nobel resolved to use his fortune to award those who have made great accomplishments and contributions to humanity. Thus, he created the Nobel Peace Prize, and many others.
How do we like our obituries to be written and read? What is the most important thing in our life when it’s been all said and done? I guess it doesn’t matter what we’ve received but what we’ve left. After all, we can’t take anything with us when we die.
Stop and think about for a moment about priorities in our lives.
