In my hometown a large graveyard lies behind my house. As I was a child, every summer my brother and I would fish frogs at the rice field which was adjacent to the burial ground. Out of fear we would sing out loud while walking to the field checking on the fishing rods at night.
We are afraid of walking alone in darkness, because we are not sure what lies ahead or something horrifying might befall or attack us. In Psalm 23 David assured himself that he would fear no evil though he walked through the shadow of death because God was with him. Some day We might walk through the life’s darkness like David. We have this hope that God is with us as he was with David thousands of years ago.
Are you afraid? Draw near to God and in turn He will come close to you. You will dread nothing if God remains in your life.
