It is said that we constantly want what we don’t really need. We want everything quick and fast. Instant messages (MSN/SMS), food (noodles), wealth (Lottery), love (online dating or one night stand), and almost everything instant.
The word ‘instant’ is not a sin, but the problem is that in an instant society, we tend to ignore the value of patience, understanding and gratitude. we feel irritated and upset because we don’t get what we need immediately. we start to complain and play the ‘blame’ game. Do we show thankfulness to those who are serving us? They deserve their due credit and our respect.
All the while instant gratification only leads to temporary satisfaction, but not lasting happiness or joy. There is no true joy found but in Jesus. Those who have found instant happiness or joy must be waiting for Jesus.
