With Mother’s Day approaching on this coming second Sunday of May, people start to get about to thinking how they could show gratitude and thankfulness to their moms such as sending gifts, flowers or even having dinner together.
But as we are honoring our own moms on this special day, what do you think of motherhood? Is it a menial labor – staying home, doing daily chores and raising kids – or a scared vocation which is designed by our Creator for a meaningful purpose? Over the past decade Taiwan along with other industrialized countries has witnessed the decreasing population. Married couples do not have children of their own. It would be terribly awful if someone doesn’t have babies, in 20 or 30 years because there will be no young workers paying into the pension system. It would be a good idea if moms get paid for having children as the German government has begun paying women $33,000 a month to have a baby.
